WiP Wednesday

Sometimes I actually write things instead of bitching about needing to write things.

This week is another snippet from my Kitten Peter WiP. I'm hoping it doesn't turn into a thing, but knowing me, it will. I just can't seem to help it.

Peter was a smart little fella, having figured out how to escape the bathroom by climbing onto the counter, jumping onto the doorknob, and used its weight to pull the handle down. Tony and Steve were woken up at the ass-crack of dawn when JARVIS alerted them to the escape just as a crashing noise came from the living room.

In the 30 seconds it took for Steve and Tony to get some pants on and get to the living room, Peter had somehow made it onto the hanging light fixture.

“JARVIS! How in the hell did that cat make it up there?” Tony stood in horror as the kitten pawed at one of the crystals dangling from the fixture.

“The feline was able to get to the appropriate height to jump up by climbing the bookcase, sir.”

Steve grabbed the ottoman and set it underneath the fixture, “It’s alright, Tony. I’ll get him down.”

“That thing is a menace.”

“Sweetheart, he is just being a cat. Cats like to climb.”
