Beauty Marks pt 2
She was always up first, sitting in front of a mirror shard that hung from the wall while she prepared for her day in a manner that was almost ritualistic. Hancock would watch her from the bed, he never really understood her grooming habits but that doesn't mean he didn't find it enjoyable to watch. Today she was wearing his coat over her naked body while she brushed her hair and bathed her face in a shallow dish of clean water. He eyed the the way she combed through dark black locks flecked with silver, exposing the curve of her neck. Kitty tossed her hair back with a shake that seemed almost feline and picked up a knife to clean the dirt under her nails. Vault dwellers. He often called her Miss Prissy, pointing out the ridiculous amount of time she spent making herself look presentable for what? Ferals and raiders? While he would grope around for clothes to make himself decent and take a swig of water to wash away the foul taste in his mouth. Simple, practical. As he rolled up his sleeves he sauntered over to where she sat, humming just loud enough for her to hear, he knew from the wry smile that formed on the mirror. He slipped his arms around her, his hands moving up to fondle her breasts while he rested his chin on top of her. "Are vault dwellers usually this prissy or are you just special?" With a gentle squeeze, he studied the stark differences in their reflections. She tried to keep her cool but he could hear the small hitch in her breath and see her shoulders tighten. He smiled serenely, "Danse could be snapped up by two Deathclaws by the time you're done." She chuckled, "Danse is a big boy, he can take care of things while I'm feeling prissy. Besides I'm not sure if Deathclaws like canned food." "Who knows?" "We could ask Danse." Hancock snorted at the image of a Deathclaw spitting out Danse - what he wouldn't give to see that. Kitty grinned with him; she disentangled herself from his embrace and leaned forward. Her finger ran along her bottom lip as she examined her facd. "God, What I wouldn't do for some lipstick." She said as she stood up, running her fingers through her well-groomed hair. "Psh." She was one of the most beautiful women in the Commonwealth; with a wicked smile that reached the corners of her eyes and a walk that commanded attention. Her lips, without anything tarnishing them, were soft and thick and parted ever so slightly when she was relaxed. "You don't need the stuff." She laughed and shook her head, "I don't do this just to look good, Hancock." With a turn of her heels, she gently pushed him towards the bed, "this is a ritual." Hancock sat down and allowed her to take control of the situation. He was both amused snd delighted as she pushed him back. "Is that so? Like what? Magic?" "It is. A woman's make up is her magic." She crawled up to him, the hem of his coat dragging behind her. "It gives her the strength to be the person she wants to be. It makes people look at her, listen to her - maybe even be afraid of her." She straddled him with her tiger striped thighs and sat up, with a nudge of her fingers she let the faded red garment fall off her shoulders. Her lips twitched with amusement as she studied the look on his face. "...just like your coat, wouldn't you think?" Oh. He definitely had some thoughts. And he was more than happy to act on them.
the goodneighbour welcome (pt 1)
[[Done for a friends with benefits prompt that I saw. Please take this away from me so I never have to complete it]]
"So I think I have a problem." Farenheit sighed loudly, turning her attention to the floor she gave her cigarette a tap to remove the ashes and returned it back into her mouth. Outside a storm drummed against the roof of the Old State House. Hancock stretched himself along the sofa and propped his shoesover the side. He crossed his hands over his stomach and leaned back, unaffected by the bodyguard's lack of interest. "You know this drifter lifestyle I'm enjoying with that fine lady from Sanctuary? She rolls into town for some excitement or a good ol' fashioned Goodneighbour welcome?" He paused, there was no answer. "Well, I'm starting to feel like it ain't working for me. Sure the flirting is fun, she's fun, but I'm beginning to feel - well let's say I'm getting some *complicated* feelings about the matter." His mouth formed a tight frown as he stared at the ceiling, "What I'm tryin to say is I think I really like the gal." "Then tell her." "That's an awful idea. What did I pay you for again?" "Not this." She dropped the cigarette butt on the ground and smothered it with her heel. He exhaled noisily, "Maybe I should keep it simple. We shoot, we sleep and then we leave before things get complicated. We do that already. All I have to do now is wait until she gts tired of the ghoul shtick or I get enough jet inside to kill me." "Whatever works for you, Hancock." The front door opened and the sound of wet boots clunked against the wooden floorboards. Immediately Hancock sat up, hearing the sound of Dogmeat's whining and watched a drenched woman in a trenchcoat emerge from the stairs. "Well look, if it ain't the Silver Shroud herself." Of *course* she would appear just as they were talking about her. That woman always had a gift of unfortunate timing. He pushed himself off the sofa in one easy motion and grinned, holding his arms open as he welcomed her, "Time to hit the road again?" "Not right now." She pushed the brim of her sopping fedora up and looked at him, "I was wondering if we could stay the night here." His face froze in a confused smile, she never stayed over before. Hell, she never spent a whole night in one place before she got up again and slips out of the door with her dog trailing behind her like a shadow. It didn't happen in Sanctuary, it didn't happen in Diamond City and it certainly didn't happen *here*. "Finally feeling the rub from Diamond City? 'Cause if you are then Clair can show you some real hospitality." "No." She walked over, unaware of her dripping clothes as she dropped her head onto his shoulder, "I just really want to be here right now." At that moment, even if he couldn't see her, Hancock was pretty sure Farenheit was rolling her eyes at the sight of him saying yes.
So I built a house for myself in Sanctuary and every night I find MacCready sleeping in my bed and it’s just so cute. I have this headcanon now that Kitty let him stay at her place when she’s not around since it’s at least cheaper than paying for a room at Goodneighbour all the time and at first he felt on edge like ‘why is it so clean what is with all these stuffed toys everywhere’ but eventually it ends up being the only place he feels safe enough to sleep in without his gun plus he gets to help himself to her stash of alcohol.
Caps
“Can we go home now?”
Blood gurgled from a bullet ridden body. Empty casings dropped onto the ground with a ping. Kitty adjusted her hat and exited the room, the sound of bone fragments crunched under her shoes. Behind her MacCready gripped his rifle and followed her.
“This place gives me the creeps.” He muttered, “I say we put a bullet through every raider’s head and get the hel - heck out of here. Jeez, what’s with all these…things anyways.”
“Robert.” She clucked in a calm and almost maternal tone, “Are you scared?”
Robert Joseph MacCready made an irritated grunt and his muttering ceased, he hated her calling him that. She smirked at the stink-eye he gave her as he grudgingly followed in silence. MacCready was a damn good shot if she ever saw one but he would not risk his life unless there was either enough caps on the table or if he was pretty sure the companion he was travelling with could reassure him that he won’t die within the first five minutes of the job. And frankly there wasn’t enough caps in the Commonwealth for MacCready to stay inside a house full of human remains.
“If we check this place out properly enough we won’t need to come back.” She eyed the basement stairs, “Maybe we’ll find something to make Hancock pay us double.”
He groaned, “I hate you so much.”
“Caps, MacCready. Just think of the caps and you won’t have to concern yourself with my ugly mug.”
