Mafia AU: Alec being a mafia boss and Magnus a famous singer
Grace - “You don’t owe me” ft G-Eazy
Hips swaying to the beat of the music, hands holding the microphone, rings shimmering in the stage lights, the man singing had captured the whole room’s attention. Everyone was watching him, some holding their drinks in the air, stopped mid movement, others with their cigarettes forgotten between their lips. Magnus Bane wasn’t the most popular cabaret singer of New York for nothing; his shows were always sold out, no matter where he performed. Some foul tongues were going around sputtering nonsense of how he had made some pact with the devil, or was involved in black magic, to justify his success. It was frankly ridiculous, those old women tales.
But when you were attending one of his performances, you couldn’t deny the little thought that he may, in some kind of way, be a little magical. How else could he keep everyone eyes on him so easily?
“You don’t owe me”
The words were sending shivers down Alec’s back, as the singer eyes locked on his. Yes, magic indeed.

Fluff, established relationship
Breathe in. Breathe out. A quiet little snore Alec was intent he did not make, but that Magnus found adorable. Face half mashed into the pillow, the warlock was gazing at his husband’s sleeping form. It was early morning, early enough birds have yet to start chirping. Usually Magnus would have still been sound asleep, considering his mostly nightly routine, but today was an exception. One of many, to be honest, but he didn’t really mind.
Alec had been busy with Clave business for the last week, barely having time for phone calls and texts at times, and Magnus had missed him dearly. Not that he wasn’t busy himself though, between clients and friends visiting. He still had his high warlock responsibilities to deal with, despite being a married man now.
Married. That was something that, in his long life, he honestly wouldn’t have believed would ever happen. Raising his hand up, fingers gently moving some stray hairs from Alexander’s face, lingering softly, the gold band on his hand caught some of the first sun rays.
A lazy smile lighted up Magnus bare face, as his soft touch stirred seemed to have stirred the other man awake. A few blinks, a soft sigh, before dark eyes meet his golden ones.

“Bloodstream” - Stateless
Alec Pov, thinking of him meeting Magnus
For years, he had went through life by himself. Not that he was alone per se; he had his siblings, his parents, even fellow shadowhunters. But as much as everyone confided in him, looked up to him or how much he cared about his family, he had never really let himself rely on someone else. Never had shared his insecurities, his worries, his fears. Never opened himself up to someone else. Too scared to do it, too scared to risk losing everything he had.
And then a certain warlock came along. It was unsettling, strange and scary… but at the same time, it was exhilarating, breathtaking and comforting. He slowly let his walls down, brick after brick of pent up feelings falling in pieces, lighting scars that never had been uncovered before. He was scared, yes, because it was something so new to him, to let someone in like that. But he wanted it, he wanted to feel Magnus presence in his heart, under his skin, with him at all times. Like he had always been meant to be there, in his life.
He loved the man, like he never thought he’d ever love anyone. And he hoped that this would keep on for as long as he lived. He wasn’t alone anymore and never would he be again.
