Today's Complete Monster of the Week: Krampus

I am obsessed with Five (as you may know from my last post) but I still hold a special place in my heart for Klaus. They are my children and by far my favourite characters in the series!

I just had to draw them interacting! It's a huge head cannon of mine that the Hargreeves children all make fun for Five for being 'a child'. Like calling him adorable and stuff as he slowly becomes more and more stabby.

Klaus would be just the person to push his buttons and not have the self preservation skills to know when to stop 😂

So I read the new Klaus comic from Boom! Comics. 

I liked it. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the idea of it at first, after reading a bit about the idea behind it. But I liked it. It’s painting Klaus as a different kind of person, while still following some of the old stories. I’m curious about where they’re going with it now. The author said something about there not being too many Santa origin stories, and there aren’t in comics. But he wasn’t just talking about comics, and he is wrong on that point. But it’s clear which ones he does know from the story. He’s clearly watched the old cartoon of “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town”. Which is fine by me, because honestly, that’s one of my favorite Santa Origin stories. (I am not sure what others there are in terms of movies, but there are definitely books.)

I see he’s leaning towards the Sinterklass version of Santa more so than the St. Nicholas version. Which is interesting. I have to say, I’ve done less research on that angle of it, so I’m intrigued to see where this comic goes from here. 

I will definitely be reading the other issues. I can tell from the articles I’ve read that the author has big ideas about where this will go, and I’m intrigued to find out more about them.
