if you enjoy Klingon and are thinking of joining the Klingon Language Institute, don't! you'll ruin a perfectly good language by interacting with the impossible people who run the KLI
I submitted an entry asking for an official Klingon entry for ohio. My rationale was that someone who was "brand new" and just bought their first Klingon Dictionary and is just learning the language might not know how to klingonify the name "Ohio". a user named E.T. responded with the snide comment, "From personal experience, you shouldn't send your chabal tetlh requests when you're brand new, you'll be downvoted into oblivion. ;)" this was sidestepping my concern entirely, insinuating i was "brand new", and telling me to shut up
then later, i requested terms to translate a Latin poem, and like everyone who has ever translated something into klingon, i came up with a klingon version of the earth poet in question. despite this being standard operating procedure, i was bizarrely accused of "making up canon" (????)
then in a fake "accountability process" i was told i was wrong about everything even though it didn't make any sense that i would be wrong and they didn't explain why i was wrong, so i left.
it's a bunch of control freaks who have nothing better to do than exercise control over new members for no reason, and get mad when you won't kiss their ring
