glad I'm not the only one who doesn't post much about their WIP! you were one of the first writeblrs I followed because yours sounded so interesting to me. fantasy, lucid dreaming, adventure, ancient china???

Hi Kly! Took me, what, a year? to reply, but I finally got around to it!

Thanks so much for the compliment! I have a gazillion several WIPs in various stages of development—the ones you mentioned is my main one, Lucidity (fantasy, adventure, lucid dreaming) and that other one I’m hoping to write after this, The Warrior and the Bookworm (fantasy, adventure, ancient China).

These blurbs are bound to change as I write more (and thus make more) of the plot, but as for now here they are:

Lucidity

Life’s been kind of a roller coaster for Kenny Ye. Between barely graduating high school, a car accident, some minor memory loss, and college confusion, she just wants a little peace and quiet. What she gets instead is a missing roommate, a dodgy boyfriend, and a mysterious girl with purple hair who insists that there’s more than meets the eye. Join Kenny as goes on an unforgettable magical adventure to uncover a forgotten past and save the magical fantasy realm of her childhood dreams.

The Warrior and the Bookworm

TWATB is a story of two lovers who are literally from different worlds. Zhou Xinai is a bookish Chinese farmgirl living in rural 70′s China, and Wu Sunho is a warrior / antagonist in a book called A Tale of Two Brothers. When Xinai wakes up one day to find her favourite character sleeping on her couch, the two have to rely on one another to cope with this bizarre turn of events. Along the way, they fall in love.. but when the book suddenly sucks the both of them back in, they find themselves facing a new set of dangerous challenges. Will love prevail at the end? Or is Xinai doomed to death by dragon... or worse?

I just imagined Michael finally siding with the other kids against Agau and they're all one big precious found family. Then Agau captures them all but keeps her pet Michael separate, threatens to kill his friends, shows a live feed of them in another room. He refuses to go back to the dark side so Agau just leaves him to die while she goes and does evil things. Michael manages to escape and find the room his friends are in but turns out the live feed was a recording and they were already dead.

THE AU WE ALL NEED

This is absolutely evil of you and I am a major, major fan of it. It would work with almost any character, too, like I can see this working for Beth really well instead of Michael, or Matt, or anybody! 

Because they’re all devoted to their found family and they’re all manipulated by Agau at some point or another and they all would want to escape and they would all be absolutely broken if/when their friends are dead.

It’s the most flexible and intriguing idea I’ve ever come across. You mad genius you.

1) What is/are your OC’s nickname(s) and how did it come about?

First, Zach is short for Zachary so that’s a nickname right there.

His surname is Appleton, and he has fully embraced it. This has resulted in several apple-related nicknames. His personal favorites are Granny Smith and Pink Lady.

42) What makes your OC happy?

Lazy afternoons, bad jokes, simple domesticity, reading, exploration, pranks, puzzles, friends, learning…. so on and so forth. He’s a huge fan of the really small moments.

63) How does your OC display love?

Zachary’s love languages are physical touch and quality time! He has a tendency of wrapping his arm around people he likes and the more he likes someone, the more time he’ll spend with them. As such, he’s attached to the hip of his best friend.

I was watching your word count rise steadily and thought, damn, this is inspiring. You go!

My friend did the math and I guess I was doing 40+ words a minute? Which doesnt seem like much but I looked it up and it is above average. I just can’t believe I could do it with how many typos I make. Much more interested in knowing how many typos I made per minute. If I could do this every day off, I would have my story done in a month!

Oh, jeez, what a good word.

If you’re familiar with my dusk tribe faeries, you might be interested to know that they have something I refer to as “confusion magic.” This entails causing people to see minor hallucinations and inciting confusion, and they use it as a defense mechanism against predators and as a prank against humans.

That’s the closest I can get to a delirium-related fact, I think!
