I know- I KNOW at this point I should not be surprised that each and every story of yours never fails to thrill and enchant and captivate but- good gravy woman, the consistency with which you enthrall with your gorgeous words- I just-
*shakes my head in awe* thank you, from the bottom of my heart thank you, for all of it.
Because it would be impossible to point out every phrase that tripped my reader’s heart but you should absolutely be lauded for your poetry, here is a small selection of favorite sentences from It’d Be Easy, If I Hated You, which contained (almost) more delectable angst than my goblin heart could handle:
“She had stripped down her defences, had led Kara by the hand to the softest parts of herself, and Kara had soothed them. She’d laid her palms over Lena’s scars, pressed her lips against the open wounds and whispered promise after promise. She’d sworn to heal her, and then she’d dug her nails into the rawest parts of Lena’s soul and pulled her apart.”
^have I ever read so raw a statement, one so visceral and aching? No, no I have not.
“The bright thrust of Kara’s faith in her is blinding amidst the darkness Lena’s drowning in. The fervid sincerity of it, even after all this time and all the hurt between them, blights her every sense and leaves her reeling.”
^bright and blight and blinding such sweet alliteration in the middle of heart-wrenching metaphor good LAWD
“How can an absence sit in a room like a physical presence, she wonders. How can a void suffocate?”
^excuse me just gonna *walks outside to scream*
