Cleaving Strife Abstratus
Knifekind covers the usage of knives of all kinds as weapons. From the humble stainless steel kitchen knife most would consider the only weapon-like object in their home, to the daggers owned by militant people and survival enthusiasts alike, to magical knifes that are so sharp, it could cut through /Space itself/, all these fall under the Knifekind Abstratus.
As most regular households lack the presence of Deudly Firearms or Shitty Anime Swords, most Players who live normal lives pre-Game, relative to their peers anyhow, use Knifekind as their first Strife Abstratus. There are two ways of using knives as a weapon; the first and simplest is, of course, cutting people up. Which is the most common way of using knives as well, and it would deal a lot of Damage. The second way is to throw the knife, which is quite hard if the knife itself is too heavy, or has a balance that make it horrible to throw with any accuracy, such as most household knives. Throwing knives around deals slightly less Damage that simply holding it, but has the advantage of a Range farther than Melee.
Knifekind uses either Mangrit or Alacrity as its Attribute, for Melee use and throwing respectively. Its Range is Melee for actually had-to-hand combat uses, and can extend to Short or even Medium when used as a throwing weapon.
Utility: The most common of knives, and lilkely the first one a Player would alloctae into their Strife Deck. Utility knives are often made slightly blunted in order to mae sure the user isn’t harmed to horribly, or would harm others horribly, which is exactly what you are trying to accomplish. As a result, these knives have slightly lesser Damage compared to other types, but have special Features that are connected to their actual utility function.
Combat: The type of knife owned by military veterans and survival nuts, also the ones you’re gonna Alchemize the most. These knives, in contrast to their Utility brethren, are built to harm, maim, and kill. And they have the sharp edge and jagged teeth to prove it. These knives deal slightly greater Damage than usual.
Throwing: Some people like to keep a distance from their enemies, but lack any actual ranged weapons to wield. So of course, they try to throw their weapons instead. Because that always works. These knifes are often small, light, and well balanced, perfect and quite easy to throw. Some even has the ability to return to the user like a boomerang. These knives have lesser Damage, but can be used for Ranged attacks.
“A large knife you picked up in your kitchen. Its made of stainless steel, and you’re not very sure if that means it could cut through whatever these monsters are made of. Still, its basically the most weapon-like object in the house, excluding the ones from your Guardian’s… hobbies.”
Type: Sharpened Cleaving Weapon - Damage: Medium - Attribute: Alacrity - Range: Melee
Bane (Food): The weapon could eat certain Underlings for breakfast. Any enemy with a Food Element or Theme take additional Bane Damage when attacked with this weapon.
“A large knife with an interesting design. While its handle is mundane enough, its blade has been forged such that it appears to have fractures all over its surface. The fractures are actually purely cosmetic, and does not affect the durability of the knife itself.”
Type: Sharpened Throwing Weapon - Damage: Medium - Attribute: Alacrity - Range: Medium
Shrapnel Volley: When thrown, the blade could explode into dozens of pieces. Each piece would deal the same amount of damage as usual, and would travel in a random direction. Thus everything nearby shall be hit, most likely multiple times. This ability is optional and would destroy the blade when used.
