My image of Knight of Knowledge Y/N by @insertsaddict
You see, i've been reading a lot of shadow milk x reader stuff lately and stumbled upon the Knight y/n series by insertsaddict. And I really love it.
I headcanon knight y/n as a powerful being in terms of strength and an excellent sword master. Hence, they were chosen as the Fount of Knowledge's knight and I've been imagining them aura farming.
A dragon descended upon the Spire, threatening to reduce it to ruins. In response, Knight Y/N moved faster than the eye could follow, their sword flashing like lightning through the air before cleaving the beast cleanly in half. And when a cookie, unable to accept the truth, recklessly lunged toward the Fount, there was no need for concern. Knight Y/N swiftly hooked an arm around the attacker’s shoulder, using their own momentum against them before slamming them hard onto the ground in one fluid motion.
But if they're that powerful, how did they perish protecting the fount against the rebels? (referencing to this post) The rebels who wanted the fount executed know how powerful his knight is; thus, they placed a curse on knight y/n draining their strength immensely. This is why reader felt weak during the battle leading to their defeat.
I guess Knight y/n's death drove the fount into despair, resulting in his corruption. Light milk cookie—now shadow milk cookie is determined to resurrect reader and if resurrection is no longer an option? then diving into the past would be the final solution.
(All of this are just my headcanon, so don't jump me, okay?)
Please note that my interpretation might not be accurate to what the author visualized. This post and my headcanons are merely for fun.
i was thinking back to that knight fic i made and the line "It was clear who the easily replaceable one was." SM's heart would DROP if he ever knew that was a reason you stayed behind. The idea you would reduce yourself to just a knight, something to be replaced if you were to fall. It would shatter him. I belive he would begin questioning if he showed you enough care, wondering if he was to distant or that he didnt make his feelings known. You were more than a mere knight to him; you could never be replaced in his eyes.
I think he would blame SS in a way. (in my headcannon SS trained the knight of knoledge) That SS is the one to make you believe that you were worthless in comparison to him. Add that on to the reveal that SS is the one to seal them away, SM's hatred would only grow.
Had a thought about Ghost Knight!Y/N.
Namely, that after their fractured mind put two and two together in regards to Shadow Milk being their dear Fount of Knowledge, suddenly they switch from stalking around the Spire to constantly hanging around Shadow Milk unless he actively goes out of his way to either order them to stop or avoid them.
Because the reason why they protected the Spire beyond death was to ensure their Fount of Knowledge had a home to return to. And now that he has, they can once again loyally serve and protect him, even beyond death.
It probably wouldn't take long for Shadow Milk to learn about your presence. As soon as he returns to the Spire in his newly-baked body, Black Sapphire and Candy Apple come rushing up to him. As delighted as they are to see him, they quickly tell him that the Spire is haunted!
They practically talk over each other, explaining how a spirit has been impeding all their work...how it keeps trying to chase them off! And when they tried to face it, it actually attacked them! With a sword!
Naturally, Shadow Milk isn't having this...this is his tower, his domain! He's the one who decides how everything plays out, not some...squatter spirit!
So he hovers through the Spire's halls, just waiting for this "ghost" to make their appearance. It isn't long before they do...a pale, spectral knight appearing in the middle of a room as he enters, hand already on the hilt of their sword!
...seeing that it's a knight gives him...a brief moment of pause. Though he can't quite make out its features, could it be possible...?
You approach him, slowly drawing your sword...before pausing, looking him over. Your gaze lands on his Soul Jam, lingering there for a long time.
Slowly, your form shifts...your face becomes clearer, and its unmistakably you. Shadow Milk hisses in a breath.
...after a heartbeat, you kneel in front of him, your sword propped before you. "My...Fount..." you hum.
"...my knight," he says softly, reaching out to touch your hands...of course his hand just passes right through you. But he can't help but let out a choked laugh...you're here.
Naturally you follow him around after that...perhaps invisible most of the time, unless something threatens him, but still very much there. Shadow Milk will yap to you constantly, and...I can't see him bringing himself to order you somewhere else.
He's been separated from you for so long, why wouldn't he want you at his side, always?
chubby sage. is this anything.
I agree.
Therefore...
My God, My Universe...

Ive been reading your Ghost Knight Y/N x Shadow Milk Cookie Mini Comic amd I had this random idea for a senario. What if a big bird flew through an opened window and then sees Knight reader in her doll form and decides to take her back to his nest so the bird grabs the doll and flies off into the distance. Later Shadow milk cookie comes back to find his Knight missing. How would things play out after that?
First time answering an ask, kinda nervous *gulp*
I think he'll be in pure panic mode, searching every inch of the room and throwing things off the floor when he realizes that the window is open. You must've fallen off, or somebody stole you from the window. He's now imagining things about what could've happened that made you disappear, and he's now furious. To think that somebody has the guts to take you without him noticing -oh, they will pay for that. After scouring the entire earthbread for a few days, he finally found you resting on a bird's nest. Relief washed over him, and he's now a crying mess.
He's not letting you out of his sight again after that.

What if Y/N Cookie was an immortal (Shadow Milk's fault) aloof knight who once knew SMC before his corruption? Maybe he could've been the one to knight them? (Mix feelings on their part I don't doubt...)
It's an interesting idea...being a knight of the Fount of Knowledge, you wouldn't just be a knight and guard but also a scholar helping him answer questions that are asked of him.
Seeing the questions he receives, and the way it all eats away at him, wouldn't help your aloofness. You would become a confident to him, probably one of the few he has...he quickly becomes attached. If he hadn't already made you immortal, having you help him would make him decide to do so.
(In this case, he'd definitely tell you about it before doing it, though.)
But as time goes on, more and more Cookies coming expecting easy answers, with chaos resulting no matter the choices he makes...you can slowly see it start to break him. You continue to soften around him, to offer him some consolation or help...but eventually, he starts putting barriers between you. Hiding something.
Before you're able to do anything...he falls into Deceit.
You refuse to work with him to spread his rumors and chaos...you made a vow to stand for Truth and Knowledge, after all. But at the same time...you made a vow to protect him. Even if you hadn't...you can't bring yourself to strike him down.
Eventually, he ends up sealed away, and you visit the Silver Tree. One way or another, you become a member of the Silver Knights, official or not. You guard the Tree to ensure the world is safe from him...and, in a way, to protect him from being used by whatever evil forces might see him as a pawn.
When the seal weakens, it's not hard to notice that the blue eyes that peer out from the abyss focus all of their attention on you...
