i feel very intimidated to try to actually knit anything other than a scarf.. is that normal? how do i get over this fear? and what is a good project to knit after finishing my scarf? socks???

It’s a lovely, cloudy day.

There's a gentle rain outside. I'm mellow.

Of course, that means I can't get pictures of my green cardigan right now but here's my knit sweaters.

There's Fountain from Borroco using yarn that was gifted to me.

Shout out to my brother who kindly helped me by taking pictures. He did a pretty good job if I do say so.

Here's the most recent that I made right after the cardigan; the V-neck pullover.  It's so cozy! I'm happy with it. I did keep is short on purpose with longer sleeves so I could fold up the cuff for a different look.

Here's a sample earflap I knitted up. I wanted a flatter base so about the third try I got it.It's inspired by the red knit hat the lady trainer avatar can wear in the Pokemon Go wardrobe selection.

I'm not 100% committed to the pokeball logo/symbol so it's not sewn on. 

I crocheted it first, but it added to much bulk on the side. I thought about working it into the knitting of the hat, but I'm only looking into colorwork. I haven't done anything yet, so it seemed a bit much since I just wanted something quick and fun to do.   I realize it's not an exact match, but I'm happy with it. I don't have an ear flap hat in my collection and I'm pretty proud of that pompom.

This is the beginning of another cardigan/button up top.  

The yarn is Chic Sheep by Marly Bird and it's so spring-y that I had to hold it open here. It is a worsted weight yarn and 100% Merino wool, no fillers. It's pretty soft actually, compared to other wool and wool blends I've encountered in my short life as a yarnie so I was pleasantly surprised by the softness of a 100% wool.

I'm tempted to knit tighter because there's so much spring to it, so I remind myself to not think about it which makes it good tv knitting. Stockinette is easy to do while being distracted by the tiny people trapped in a box.

Since the Marly Bird formula for knitting a sweater in weekly parts works, I'm sticking to it.

FINALLY finished this blanket. Took me forever but I got it done. Now, off to make a Halloween themed dog sweater.

Pale grey skies

We’re having a wet Autumn here in NWA. It might be nice for a day or two and then back to sunny, cold Autumn, then sprinkle in a day of rain. 

This time, we got hail.

I’m so thankful for heating, and tea, and hot chocolate. Stay safe if you’re out and about.

I’m currently working on a present for a fellow artist and old uni friend.

That’s all I’ll say about that for reasons.

Last night I ordered some Takumi dpns to work on this beauty:

The picture is not mine. This is from Noro Knitting Magazine Issue 13 (Fall 2018). I started it last year then took a break, got a stash, started knitting from the stash, and then I found this again, so it’s time to finish.

This Leaf Afghan pattern is by Anna Stoklosa.  You can find it on Ravelry if the inserted link doesn’t work. The leaves are all that’s left to finish (and seaming them on). 

Noro knits are so colorful! They’re like opening a box of jewels. I’m dazzled and a bit intimidated but working on the body of  this afghan was a nice start. The yarn does all the color work for you. Of which, I used Lion Brand Mandala that I got for Christmas and will use the second ball to make up the leaves. 

Is anyone stumped by multi-colors in one project or is it just me?
