Here is how I deal with color work’s skipped stitches! I use this technique for everything, not just polka dots. It can be done on a flat project, but the purling version takes some time to master!

Make One (right or left) is one of my favorite knitting increases! And once you’ve mastered it you will find it just as easy as yo!
Make one Right creates a solid directional increase. You can kind of see the increase style in the second picture, but check out this sweater made with both right and left.
