So I’m starting my first sock! I’ve already hit a few road bumps….. yarn hasn’t been “caked” (I think that’s what you call it when it’s rewrapped in a ball for easier knitting). But the most concerning for me is that it seems so small! I cast on 56sts on size 2 needles…. But it seems just like it wouldn’t fit a foot, anybody have any insight for me?
Also thanks to @orchardknit for the suggestion about the dpns super helpful
🍃 Finally complete! This very green set is made for Ms Clair, one of my older students. I redid half the bag for her, sewed on the button, and to finish off the yarn, made the little purse too! Joined my own green cotton yarn to finish off the flap. My mum helped do the lining for the main bag, and I bought a matching green sling! 💚 It fits my brick(wallet) and sunglass case just nice. Can't wait to hand this over to Ms Clair! Bag is made with a japanese cotton straw-like yarn which I cannot remember the name now 😂 found in Golden Dragon at People's Park Centre. . . #crochet #yarnitbunny #bags #waistcoatstitch #knitstitch #crochetbag #handmadebag #slingbag #sgcrafter #cottonyarn #customised https://www.instagram.com/p/Cgq8qAVrojj/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Here is a selection of beginner-friendly two-row-repeat knit stitches:
These are mainly utilising simple knit and purl techniques to create interesting textures and lace effects.
Stitch pattern / knitting tutorials for these and other knit stitches are available via my blog.
I have been busy creating and neglecting the social media accounts in the process.
Now catching up and making a start with sharing one of the recent weekly swatches - producing this swatch of the Cascading Leaves Knit Stitch is a return to traditional, dainty lace knitting.
This stitch is worked on a multiple of 10 plus 1 stitches over 16 rows. All wrong side rows are purled throughout, allowing for a modicum of relaxation working this stitch.
The stitch pattern is available via my blog.
Injecting a splash of colour with this week's knit swatch... The Two-Colour Loop Stitch is super simple, rewarding and beginner-friendly.
The loop effect is achieved by mostly knitting, some purling and simply slipping lots of stitches.
