Big Thanks to @paulaoconnorstylist 🙏🏾 for this mention. There’s nothing warmer than a hand knitted hat or scarf so, as we head towards January, we thought we’d take a look at two local designers who are using chenille and chunkier yarns. @soboye_boutique sources his chenille from Walthamstow, and is lucky enough to have a ‘super knitter ‘ as a neighbour and friend, who knits these extra long scarves for him. They’re currently on display at his shop in Shoreditch, but he also keeps stock at his home near Leytonstone for anyone interested locally. You probably already know @bykalax as a local seller of childrenswear and interiors but, also a brillant knitter, Kala’s been making these cosy chenille beanies and snoods in bright smartie colours which will liven up our winter neutrals.. (all available to buy via her feed) Kala is also hosting a knitting workshop @kukoolala in Jubilee park, Leyton, this Tuesday at 1pm. If you have your own needles at home ( size 8/9 upwards) then bring them along, but Kala will have spares on the day too.. the good news is using chunky yarn and larger size needles gets quicker results! *Covid precautions will be taken, and masks must be worn at all times, but Dm Kala if you want to know more. Stay in touch via her feed on any updates in line with Covid guidelines. #walthamforestfashion #fashiondistrict #knitting #knittingworkshop #chenille #socialknitting #wool #walthsmstow #leyton #jubileepark #knitspiration #knitwear #learntoknit #longscarf #lbwalthamforest #knittersofinstagram (at S O B O Y E) https://www.instagram.com/p/CXv2DfVozUh/?utm_medium=tumblr
