A Strange Mage || Geralt X Knox
Geralt eyed the strange mage who sat across from him as he took a long drink of ale. “I work alone. Normally.” He heaved a sigh, glancing over the other patrons of the small inn’s bar before looking back to the mage. “But, I suppose I could make an exception. Just this once.” The Witcher refused to admit to this stranger that he was mildly desperate for coin, that he likely would have accepted any job that came his way, seeing as not a single patron had approached him since he took up residence at a small table near the back of the dimly lit room. Everyone present was well aware of who Geralt was. In fact, he was certain the entire town knew the Butcher of Blaviken was within their walls. Did this mean there was no work to be found, no monsters to be dealt certain death? Or, perhaps, did it mean his reputation preceded him? Either way, the mage’s proposal became more appealing by the moment. “What are we hunting?”
