I’m an “anti” who recognizes their bias and just really wants to get rid of it. The only real trouble I’m having with undoing my bias is lolisho, and you seem like you could explain it well from your posts. I understand lolishocons are not automatically pedophiles, but I’m having trouble understanding why that is. /gen

So, I'll preface this by saying that I'm NOT a lolishocon/kodocon. Aside from the VERY RARE shota, I am generally uncomfortable with lolisho myself. As such, I can't really speak for anyone but myself (although lolisho fans are free to say their piece in the notes of this post, if they want!)

So, I'm just going to use my interest in Hanako from TBHK as an example, since he's one of the rare shotas I actually enjoy content of. For me, when I see him, I just don't think about him as a "little boy" the way most antis seem to think I would. What comes to mind is not a child, only a cartoon. I find real kids to be extremely gross, and sometimes annoying, on top of just...not at all being interested in them (and am also actually pretty aggressively anti-MAP). I simply like Hanako's design, and his dub voice, a lot. I think he's an interesting character, and enjoy exploring different dynamics and scenarios involving him

Basically, I don't see any resemblence between children, and bug-eyed cartoon characters. My brain sees zero similarities between them, and I find it really odd when other people (especially adults) don't make that same distinction

I will say, though, that I am generally against 3D lolisho, as well as lolisho art that is highly rendered. THAT is when it becomes realistic, and while I won't make assumptions unless the loli/shota actually looks like a real kid, I'm always going to SEVERELY side-eye anyone who seeks out any kind of realism in their lolisho. And if people refer to REAL KIDS as lolis/shotas, I will assume that person is a pedophile hiding behind proship-adjacent labels

That post wasn't just about fan service anime or whether characters are kids or not, or s zt or not, it's a out how the designs of female anime characters have kept getting shittier. Lolicon garbage is an obvious influence on that but the blobby Moe look is also just plain ugly and stupid.

I'll agree that I dislike moeblob, definitely not my cup of tea. The industry really isn't as dominated by it as a lot of people make it out to be either though. I'm not going to say any anime with rounder faces then most 90s anime is moeblob. Like My Hero, round and softer than if it was a 90s anime but honestly real life is softer than most 90s anime. It's not moeblob imo though, I wouldn't even put Eri in that category.
