Boisterous laughter filled the clearing, smiling faces lit up by the fire, as drinks and food were passed around. Even though the sun had set hours ago, summer was in full swing, the sound of cicadas humming in the distance. Hogs and deer were roasting above the flames, the tender meat ready to fall off the bone, while giant jugs of sake left them feeling warm and fuzzy. It’s the perfect night for a celebration.
Blue eyes glanced around at his tribe, the wolves chomping on bones and many of the demons joked with each other as two packs joined together. At the head of their den sat Koga and Ayame, Prince and Princess of the Eastern Ookami. As he sat next to his brother Hakkaku, Ginta finally felt whole.
“Hey Hak, can you believe we are finally celebrating those lovebirds' mating ceremony? I mean, three years ago, we were following Koga around as he hunted down Naraku, avenging our brothers’ deaths.”
“I know!” Hakkuku shoveled another bite of hog in his mouth, wiping the juice dripping down his chin before letting out a belch, “Who knew we would be back here, sitting with our pack after all the shit that went down?”
“Remember that time we ran into Inuyasha’s scary brother?” He shivered, the flash of Sesshoamru’s icy glare appearing across his mind.
“Dude, I know! I thought he was gonna kill us!”
“But did you hear that Kagome married Inuyasha? She came back after being gone for so long.”
“Our sister got mated?! That’s so great for them, we should go visit sometime.” Hakkaku waved the leg in the air as a couple of their brothers fought over some dead carcass nearby. Taking a swig of whatever the next jug they were passing around, Ginta nodded, agreeing. I wonder what it would have been like if Kagome had mated Koga? Then she would truly be our sister, but anyone could see how much she loved the hanyou. Except for the two of them, of course.
“I still can’t believe that she and Inuyasha took out Naraku the way they did. I mean, I know they were powerful, but that demon was walking hell.” Standing up, Ginta held up the pigskin as everyone quieted.
“As we are celebrating our Prince Koga’s mating to the beautiful Ayame, I want to also remember our fallen brothers. Naraku and his incarnations were responsible for the slaughter of our family, but they have been avenged. Tonight, when we laugh with each other, we should always remember the ones before us, the ones who gave their lives so we could have ours. ” He finished his speech, his words echoing around him.
“That was the sweetest thing ever.” Ayame wiped a lone tear, while Koga stood, holding his own hand up for silence as thunderous applause surrounded them.
“Ginta is correct. Over the last few years, we have lost the people we cared most about, we have helped defeat the darkest evil that has ever walked this earth, and for finding the one we will spend the next lifetime with.” He smiled, sliding his hand in Ayame’s outstretched one. “I couldn’t have done it without the two I’ve known since we were cubs, the two I’m proud to call my brothers.”
He knew the tears were coming, but wasn’t prepared for the waterfall of emotions that this night would bring, especially as his twin leapt up and hugged him with his own outburst. Everyone cheered and clapped louder, passing around more food and drinks as the night went on. Just as Koga and Ayame were about to head inside to start trying for cubs of their own, he pulled them aside, a light blush on his cheeks.
“I know I’m not one to get emotional and shit, but seriously, I wouldn’t have made it through the last decade without the two of you.” He smiled, his fangs glinting in the fading moonlight.
“We would follow you to the ends of the earth if we had to.” Hakkaku slung his arm over Ginta’s shoulders, his body heavy.
“We’re brothers.” Ginta shrugged, refusing to become a bundle of tangled emotions for the second time that night, “Wherever you are is home.”
“Ya know, the next celebration will be one of your mating ceremonies.” Koga bursted into laughter, running toward the cave’s entrance, a spark in his eyes. “Though I don’t know who would mind sharing with the other, but I’ll be front and center, cheering ya on.”
Have you heard the latest fandom drama on Twitter? Sessrinners are starting to bash InuKag and are calling them a “bland ship.” Jokes on them, I think they’re just jealous that InuKag have what their ship will never, which is actual chemistry. Even if you introduced Rin as an adult but kept everything else the same they’d still be a very bland, boring ship. Sesshomaru barely even speaks to Rin, she has more dynamic interaction with Jaken. It’s just an extremely basic and safe “pure girl defrosts ice king” ship, meanwhile InuKag’s chemistry is always sizzling, what makes them such a great match in particular is how they’re both so opposite yet also really similiar at the same time, because Kagome is just as feisty & temperamental as him so you always get really entertaining back & forths between them and there’s never a dull moment when they’re both on screen. I’d even rather watch their high drama moments like love triangle bs then the snorefest that occurs when Sessrin come on screen, as annoying as it can be at least it actually keeps me engaged. They’re projecting because they know their ship is the actual bland & boring one, not InuKag.
You're right. They are jealous that Inukag have what their ship will never have. However, that's not limited to romantic chemistry only (and I add "romantic" here because sᴇssʜᴏᴍᴀʀᴜ and ʀɪɴ did have chemistry, but it was exclusively fraternal).
Something else Inuyasha and Kagome have that sᴇssʀɪɴ lacks is an epic love story, that we saw start, then shift, then develop, then push, then pull. It not only made sense for the narrative, but for both characters, in a sense that made them grow as individuals and as a couple. The show breathed life into their dynamic as much as their dynamic breathed life into the show.
Above everything, Inukag was validated time and time again by the original author and either people liked the pairing or not, it was widely accepted within the fandom as absolute canon while sᴇssʀɪɴ was discredit by Takahashi as a platonic bond between guardian and his ward and it is only accepted as canon by its shippers. Antis will never validate it and neutrals supposedly do not care either way. That's the majority of the fandom being indifferent to it or straight up hating on it.
And that's what they can't stand.
They know that their ship is problematic otherwise they wouldn't need to age her up, retcon the way they met, erase sᴇssʜᴏᴍᴀʀᴜ's visits or go that extra mile to display ʀɪɴ as the dominant partner to make up for the power imbalance that came from sᴇssʜᴏᴍᴀʀᴜ holding a place of authority over her for the entirety of their canon interactions.
They know that the way the relationship was depicted in the sequel was unsatisfactory and it only served to proof our points. The producers themselves have stated they don't know how to write this pairing in a romantic light because that's not how they were portrayed in the original material.
But shippers could never admit any of that because that would mean admiting they were wrong. So what do they do? They try to turn very serious issues into a ship war (even with Inukag, that was never even a rival ship) in the hopes that this deception could trick the rest of us into thinking both sides are on equal foot morally speaking.
And to do that, they don't hype up their ship. They know it wouldn't work and that their best chance is to try to bring other ships down to their level instead, so that's what they do. Hands the bashing. because that's their modus operandi.
Their arguments basically come down to "oh, but Sesskagu is just as bad," "oh, but Kogayame was just as creepy", "oh, but Inukag was abusive as well," "oh, but Mirsan is problematic too," and they are a lot of bullshit, but they'll keep doing it.
Because if they can't convince us at least they can still try to convince themselves.
“So Kagome’s back, huh?” Ayame’s voice was calm, casual. Perhaps too casual. Ginta and Hakkaku exchanged worried glances. There was obviously a right way and a wrong way to answer that.
Sadly, Koga wouldn’t quite have been Koga if he hadn’t walked straight into that one.
“Yeah!” he exclaimed enthusiastically. “Now we really go need to visit her and the dog. Whad’ya say we…”
“So you’re that happy about it, hm?”
Koga couldn’t possibly miss the warning signs. Ginta and Hakkaku firmly refused to believe that their pack leader could be that oblivious. There was nothing Ayame could have done to express herself better than that except, you know, actually said something explicitly, and who would do that?
“’f course I’m happy,” Koga replied with a shrug, tilting his head to the side, trying to make sense of what his wife was saying. “She’s a friend of the pack. Might be a couple of things will villages around here that she’ll be able to help with, too. We should really live in peace with the humans, ‘specially if we want to be raising kids around here.”
At that, his tail gave a little wag, and Ayame would no doubt have found it adorable if she had been looking at him instead of pointedly staring in the distance.
“Oh, yes, I’m sure Kagome can fix everything.”
“Nah, probably not. I mean, I don’t think she’d have been able to get anything done this winter when we had no food, right? That was all my lady.”
Ginta and Hakkaku released their breath. Whether Koga had done it on purpose or not, and at this point, they didn’t want to risk crediting him with anything, he had saved that one. Ayame’s shoulders relaxed a little, and she stole a glance in his direction. Immediately, as always when she looked at her husband, she found herself melting.
She didn’t care for how devilishly handsome he looked, though let it be said he did, didn’t care for his power, his status as a pack leader. Not that it wasn’t important, of course. She appreciated looks in her man as much as anyone else, and she couldn’t say she minded the power, even if frankly, she cared more about how respected he was by those in the packs and neighboring tribes.
It was his eyes she loved. The way he looked at her. Koga wasn’t shy when it came to his affections, and he expressed them vocally very easily, but he did have a tendency to put his foot in his mouth. Even in those moments, it only took her a second to see in his eyes that he hadn’t meant it, or not like that, or kinda, but he hadn’t meant to hurt her. It only took her a second to see in his eyes that he loved her.
“Wait, are you jealous?” he finally realized, and Ginta and Hakkaku decided that, yup, they were out of here now. If Koga wanted them to hunt with him, he’d have to come and get them, because Ayame had a nasty tendency to start throwing stuff, and Koga had a nasty tendency to avoid that stuff, and somehow they were always the ones who got the worst of it.
“Should I be?” she asked, narrowing her eyes.
It wasn’t as easy for her as it was for him, to say what she meant. Koga oozed confidence. He’d always been the strongest of his pack, easily overpowering the previous leader when he’d decided the time was right. Ayame had had to fend for herself her whole life. That had to build differences between people.
“Of course not,” he shrugged, almost carelessly, walking towards her. “I married you, right? Didn’t stay by that well moping around waiting for her to come back.”
That didn’t mean he didn’t think Kagome didn’t deserve it. She did. She just wasn’t for her, that was all, and he’d accepted that a long, long time ago.
He wrapped his arms around her waist, and grinned when Ayame gave him that adorable pout of her that told him she wasn’t convinced but that she still wanted him to keep trying.
“Kagome’s awesome…”
Ayame couldn’t help but laugh, her eyes not leaving his even for a second.
“Not helping your case there.”
“…and I’m proud to count her as one of my friends,” he concluded. “And I’d like to formally introduce her to my wife.”
Ayame smiled as her tail curled around Koga’s thigh.
“You’d better not run after her.”
“’f course I won’t.”
“Not even to get Inuyasha mad?”
“Wait, what? That doesn’t count!”
But he kissed the tip of her nose at that, because yeah, there was no way he’d do anything that he thought might hurt his wife. If she asked him, he’d be a major asshole to go out of his way to do it.
“Y’know you’re the only one for me, huh?”
“I’d better be,” she smiled dangerously, “or you’d be in for some real trouble, wolf.”
At that, she pulled him down and kissed him, almost biting him, and while he growled, responding with just as much passion, Koga off-handedly thought to himself that maybe he had a type.
First things firsts, this story is my first muti-chapter fic, but as always, an inukag story. I’m still really knew at writing, so bear with me, haha. Inspired by so many people in the fandom, let me know what you think! I’m still writing this story, but I’ll be updating it pretty quickly.

Chapter 1
Once upon a time, in a far away land, there resided four kingdoms, whom all lived in harmony with each other. The northern kingdom, King Toga, an incredibly powerful dog demon, and Queen Izayoi, an equally incredibly beautiful human, ruled with grace and fairness, along with their hanyou prince, Prince Inuyasha. The west, King Sesshomaru, King Toga’s first born, and his queen, Kagura, a powerful wind demon, ruled at a distance, but peaceful. To the south, King Koga an arrogant wolf demon, and Queen Ayame, a sassy, but strong wolf demon, ruled with laughter, promises and joy. The final kingdom, to the east, ruled King Suikotsu, a kind, strong fairy, and Queen Kikyo, a fairy as well, ruled with grace, beauty and love for all things, for they themselves were beings of the earth. In these kingdoms lived a variety of people, demons, humans, hanyous, even mythical creatures, such as gnomes, elves, fairies, unicorns, mermaids, even ghouls and trolls. Everyone lived in harmony and tranquility for hundred of years.
One spring evening, the kingdoms united together to celebrate the birth of the new princess, Princess Kagome. A huge celebration was in order, with treats, gifts, music and dancing and everyone throughout the land traveled to the eastern lands to rejoice in the new birth. They knew with happiness in their hearts, the peace would continue throughout the lands with the birth of this new child.
“Mama, there’s a baby.” Inuyasha pointed, looking up at his mother.
“Yes dear, that’s the new princess.” A woman with long, silky black hair told him.
“Why does she have wings?” He asked, tilting his head, his ears perking up straight, like the cute puppy he was.
Laughing softly, Queen Izayoi picked him up and spoke softly to him. “She is a fairy, baby. Fairies are wonderful, extravagant, beautiful creatures, who spread love, joy and happiness wherever they go. Fairies have wings when they are born and grown into them as they become big and strong, like a certain hanyou I know.” She spoke, nuzzling his cheek.
“Mamaaaaaa, stop.” Inuyasha laughed, pushing gently on her chest, trying to get away from the kisses. He wanted to go take closer look at the new princess. “Can I go say hi, please?”
“Let’s go together.” A baritone voice came from behind.
“Okay papa!” Izayoi let her son down to his feet and gracefully turned to her handsome husband, smiling softly, and took his outstretched arm. Together, the three of them approached the dais, where the new parents sat.
“King Toga, Queen Izayoi, we are overjoyed you could make it. My my, Prince Inuyasha, you have grown since we’ve last seen you.” King Suikotsu exclaimed, laughing loudly, standing to welcome the northern royalty.
“I’m two now!” Inuyasha said excitedly, holding up two small clawed fingers, jumping from foot to foot, in anticipation of the new princess.
“Well, you are growing strong everyday kind sir, did you want to say hi to the new princess?” He gestured to his left.
Suddenly shy, he nodded and turned to face his parents, unsure of what to do. Softly pushing him forward, Toga smiled softly for his pup. Inuyasha took a deep breath, stepping up towards the queen, whose large, blue wings glittered like the ocean in the sunshine. The queen knelt down, holding a soft bundle to her chest and smiled warmly, beckoning him forward with her manicured fingers. Inuyasha took another small step forward and looked down.
What he saw made him gasp in awe. There in her arms, was a smiling little baby girl with the bluest of eyes he had ever seen, gazing at him. They seem to match her mother’s wings in color and shimmered so brightly. Taking a sniff, he smiled softly. She smelled like wildflowers in a meadow and sunshine. Her small wings, gold and silver twirling throughout, shifted to open upon seeing him. The little girl laughed, reaching her small hands out, as if she were trying to reach his ears. Blushing a little, Inuyasha reached his hand out and Kagome grabbed onto his fingers and laughed a little more, her laugh like a tinkering of bells in the wintertime. “She smells pretty.” He whispered to himself, unaware of his father’s hearing, who just smiled upon hearing this.
“Her name is Kagome.” The fairy queen in red spoke to the young prince.
“Hi, Kagome, I’m Inuyasha.” Kagome squealed at his words and smiled at him once more, before yawning, bringing her fists towards her mouth. Laughing quietly, Queen Kikyo stood again, “She’s getting sleepy. Dear, let me put her down for a little bit, while you get the celebration going. The Southern Kingdom can’t be quite loud during celebrations.”
Agreeing with a chuckle, Suikotsu kissed his wife’s forehead and steered towards the door. Suikotsu then turned and announced the feast was about to begin, while Inuyasha skipped towards his parents with a grin on his face. As Kikyo walked Kagome to other room to lay her down, Inuyasha gripped on his mother’s pale blue skirt and couldn’t help but watch her leave and smile excitedly, knowing he had a new friend.
The kingdoms rejoiced for days for the new brith and all was well in the kingdom for a few months. Four fortnights had passed since the celebration and Kagome was beginning to grow into the beautiful child, with the most loving parents. Little did they know, an evil hanyou with a wicked plan would destroy everything. One warm summer evening, as Queen Kikyo put the child down to sleep in her bassinet, she heard some cries come from the meadow outside the castle. Rushing into the room, King Suikotsu shut the door quickly, turning towards his family with fear in his deep blue eyes.
“Naraku is here.”
“No!” Kikyo gasped. She knew he would come, had heard of the man who hunted creatures, but not this soon, not with Kagome so young. “What do we do?!” She cried, tears beginning to form along her lids.
“Pack a bag, we’ve got to run, the other kingdoms know what is happening. I sent a carrier to each kingdom a day ago to let them know Naraku was coming. I’ve told everyone to help evacuate the castle, get to the villages safely, try and travel to any of our neighboring kingdoms for safety. They will welcome them with open arms.” He explained, his voice wavering, reaching for a bag near the door.
Before Kikyo could reply, there was pounding and slamming against the large wooden door, followed by loud screaming. Kikyo picked up Kagome, who still sound asleep, curled into her mother’s arms. Knowing exactly what to do, she ran to her jewelry chest, a small black opaque box, and picked up three necklaces. Each with the symbol of the fairy kingdom. She infused her power to the first one and lifted it over her head, changing her appearance, removing her wings completely. She said a soft chant, the second pendant, a blue similar to the sky, began to glow and she wrapped it around her bundled up child. Kagome’s wings disappeared instantly, her aura changing to that of a human. Infusing the last, Kikyo turned towards her husband, just as the door burst open.
Naraku strolled through the doorway, sword in hand, with blood coating his chestnut coat, and before Suikotsu could take a step forward to defend his family, Naraku plunged the steel blade into his chest with a sinister grin on his face. Crimson eyes watched as the fairy king fell to the floor with shattered breaths, blood pooling around his wings and turned towards the queen with the small child in her arms blood coating the weapon. Dropping the third necklace quickly, Kikyo covered her daughter with both hands, closed her eyes and softly chanted a spell. Naraku took a step forward, raised his sword and slashed, catching Kikyo’s shoulder, slicing a wing in the process, just as she disappeared into twinkling dust. Enraged, Naraku, knelt down and grabbed at Suikotsu’s chin, snarling, “Where did she take her?”
“You’ll never find her.”
“You’ll die before seeing either of them again and your kingdom will be mine.”
“Go to hell.” Suikotsu sputtered, blood begin to spill from his mouth. Chuckling softly, Naraku used his sword to slice the king’s neck. The sword began to glow brightly, absorbing the fairy king’s power. Standing and calling to his men, he instructed them to dispose of the body. However, before his henchman took a step, the king’s body disappeared into gold dust, leaving only the large pool of deep red blood on the floor. Snarling softly, Naraku sheathed his sword turning to head out of the room. Catching his attention, he noticed the remaining necklace, glowing softly with Kikyo’s concealment charm, Naraku smiled and picked up, clutching it in his hands, knowing he would one day find the princess and make her his.
Kikyo stumbled through the trees, gasping for breath, blood covering her right arm. She tried to stop and use the leaves from the trees to stop her bleeding, to heal her, but she was fading fast. Taking another step forward, she looked up to the full moon and prayed for help, for her and her child. Breathing deeply, she pushed through the underbrush, trying to go north to King Toga’s kingdom, knowing he could protect her child. Tears streaming down her face, whether from the pain or the situation or her daughter’s future, she wasn’t quite sure, Kikyo sobbed, holing the still sleeping Kagome to her breast. Stop to catch her breath, Kikyo looked down to Kagome, looking like a normal human, no sparkle to her skin in the moonlight and kissed her on the forehead. “My little girl, one day you will be strongest and most beautiful fairy. You will be the answer. I love you.” Sighing and squaring her shoulders, Kikyo used the last of her energy to walk into a small meadow, near a stream, where she spotted a cottage along the water. Pushing herself even more, she stepped towards the doorway, when the reed mat swung open to reveal a woman around her age, wearing an eye patch, with a startled look across her features.
“Child, are you alright?” The women asked, taking a step towards the wounded mother.
“Please, help me. Take my child.”
“Child?” It was then, the woman in red hakama and a white kosode, looked down towards the bundle in her arms, noticing the blood dripping along the ground beside the queen. “Come inside. Let me help you.” She urgently requested.
“Please protect her. She is special, she will save our kingdom. This necklace will keep her hidden from harm. Her name is Kagome.” With that, Kikyo sank to her knees, Kaede catching her, to keep her from dropping Kagome and falling in the dirt herself. As Kaede took the sleeping child, she locked eyes with the queen, unbeknownst to her, that the queen was dying. As Kaede began to reach out towards Kikyo to help her stand, KIkyo gasped, holding her right shoulder, and fell, disappearing into twinkling dust as she passed.
Not knowing exactly what just happened, Kaede looked down to the sleeping babe, who had began to fuss, knowing she would protect this child at all costs and sensing a great power beneath the concealment charm. Standing and turning towards her little, but warm cottage, she looked up at the full moon and prayed for all the help in the world with this child.
Not too far away, in the northern kingdom, King Toga held his wife a little closer at his side, watching the eastern kingdom fall, with the rise of an evil ruler, knowing the time of peace had ended.
20 years have passed since that eventful night, but Kaede kept her promise to Kikyo in keeping the princess safe. Naraku began to become even more powerful, catching any creature he could, and absorbing their power with his sword. He became unforgiving, creating a ruthless reputation for beheading his servants. The southern wolf kingdom locked down their borders, not allowing anyone in or out without protection. Sesshomaru merely didn’t change anything, as if he didn’t care. Toga welcomed anyone who needed help with open arms, aiding his villages in support and creating a strong army in defense. Demons, mythical creatures, and humans feared Naraku, many fleeing the eastern kingdom and seeking protection among each of the kingdoms. Families were separated, lost to each other and the King and Queen of the eastern kingdom lost to its people. Many mythical creatures almost became extinct, many of the remaining hiding from the evil.
However, in a small cottage, at the border of the northern and eastern kingdoms, Kagome grew into a lovely young woman, with her powers growing exponentially everyday. She loved gardening, growing different kinds of flowers, herbs and vegetables. She loved the feeling of the soil in her fingers, learning new remedies and recipes from her mother, Mother Kaede as well as her neighbor, a friendly half-demon, Jineji helped her with her garden and always accompanied her on her walks to the neighboring villages. Her hair, a long, almost black, ran to her waist, curling slightly at the bottom and her eyes the bluest of blues, like the ocean. Her small waist almost always had a basket of flowers perched against it, and her smile never seem to left her face. The nearby villages praised her kindness and beauty, while fearing her temper on some occasions.
A bright spring morning, Kaede and Kagome were beginning their day with breakfast. “Child, I think today would be a good day to gather some flowers, while taking these herbs and remedies to the fox family down the road. Shippo’s mother just gave birth and needs a few things.”
“Okay Mother Kaede! I would love to see Shippo too, he loves my snack cakes that I make, almost as much as you do. There are a few left, may I take them with me?” Kagome asked brightly, giggling softly.
“Of course my dear. Please be careful, if you should need help, call for Jineji if you are near his home. DO you have your dagger?”
“Always! I can’t wait to see all the flowers in the fields, I wonder if the tulips have sprung yet….” Kagome began to talk to herself, as she packed her knapsack.
Laughing quietly, knowing just how much Kagome loved the wildflower field on a warm day, Kaede helped her with her cream cloak, buttoning it along her right shoulder. “Do you have your pendant? As well my child?”
“Yes Mother!” Kagome huffed, grabbing her basket with the herbs and began to step through the door. Breathing deeply, she smiled, knowing today would be a wonderful day.
Following the green path, she spent a good hour walking towards the fox hut Letting go of the pendant she was fingering around her neck, she stopped to hear voices inside, along with a laughing squeal. Jumping out front doorway, Shippo waved at Kagome and hurried towards her, with the biggest shit eating grin on his face “Kagome! Kagome! Can we go play in the wild flower fields today?”
Smiling even brighter than she was, eyes glimmering in the sunshine, Kagome laughed along.”Of course! I brought these for your mother from Mother Kaede. It’s for your brother and sisters too.” Sniffling at the package, Shippo jumped onto her shoulder as they headed inside the hut. “Now, what did you do? I know that smile.” Kagome asked, ticking Shippo’s rounding belly.
Not too far away, Prince Inuyasha, followed by his closest friends, began their hunt. It was near the end of the deer season and he wanted to catch one more for the dinner table tonight. He wanted to show his father how good he was at catching game and as they travel toward the thick forest, Inuyasha began to daydream as he rode his horse. Something about gold and silver wings and the smell of wildflowers. Hearing a slap against skin, he sighed, shaking his thoughts from his head, and turned, looking at his friends. “Serves you right Monk, you should know by now Sango will hit you every time.” He snickered at the couple.
“It’s the hand! I swear this thing is cursed.” Miroku responded, his left cheek sporting a bright pink hand print, raising his own hands in the air.
“No, you’re just a pervert!” The brunette beside him cried loudly, pulling the reins, slowing them to stop.
“Okay you two, hush, while we hunt for game. I smelt a steed not too far from here. Sango, close are we to the border?” Inuyasha turned toward the demon slayer, his companion being in charge of the maps.
“Not too far. There is a village a little ways that way, the one where the hanyou horse resides, who helps with herbs in this area. After that, you’ve reached the border.” Sango pointed, stating.
Nodding his head, Inuyasha began the dismount from his horse, grabbing his crossbow and arrows, his sword bouncing along his leather clad thigh. Stopping suddenly, his ear twitched and turned toward the wildflower meadow he knew was near here. He could hear soft giggling and a small child talking. Miroku and Sango climbed down from their horse, squabbling at each other again. Taking a step towards the sounds, he left his friends behind at the horses and followed the sounds. When he approached the edge of the meadow, he stopped in his tracks.

Inuyasha felt the barrier fall beneath his fists, his panic growing as the explosion reverberated through the air. Shielding his eyes from the intense light and pinning his ears to his head, he watched as Naraku’s sword fly through the air to land near his feet. He began to frantically call Kagome’s name, having a hard time finding her through the purple haze that filled the air.
Rushing forward, he suddenly became aware of a large tree trunk in his path, the jacaranda leaves falling about him. Long branches covered in lavender surrounded him, pleasing to his nose. He would have spent more time beneath the peaceful branches if he wasn’t searching for the woman he was in love with. Turning around, he caught sight of her, sitting on her knees, her wings quivering behind her, leaning on her hands, breathing heavy, shallow breaths. Her bow lay to her left, her arrows spilling out of its container.
“Kagome! Are you okay?!” He asked as he rushed to her side, desperately searched her for injuries, taking in her sweet scent, only stopping when she began to giggle.
“Inuyasha, I’m okay, I promise.” She sighed happily. She wasn’t sure she could do what she had needed to do just moments ago, feeling Naraku’s evil aura and sickening soul latch onto hers at the last minute. She had driven all her strength in the arrow, then before his body had touched the ground, she took all the power he had absorbed from his sword, combining her own, and formed this gorgeous tree. It was a sight to behold. “Help me up?”
Nodding, swallowing the lump in his throat, he guided her to her feet, both of them raising their heads to the sound of cheers filling the air. As the last of the smoke began to dispel, Inuyasha and Kagome just stood together, as friends, creatures and demons surrounded them, applauding.
“My dear, you were remarkable.” King Toga exclaimed as the came through the small crowd, towards the couple. “Are you injured?” Seeing her shake her head in response, he began to ask what happened. Kagome smiled and told her of how Naraku was seeking power to overthrow each of the royal thrones, absorbing their power into his sword and in the end absorbed it in himself. His soul had been beyond corrupt and she had used her own combined with the deceased’s powers to create the tree that stood tall behind them. Noting to herself, she realized there was a bit of familiarity when she had combined both powers, wondering if her father had been helping her along the way.
Smiling to herself, she was caught off guard when Sango barreled into her arms, squeezing her tightly. Kaede had managed to get some of her strength back and wasted no time in making her way towards them. Letting go off the happy woman, Kagome raced to her mother’s arms and began to sob uncontrollably, both of them falling to their knees. Rubbing her arms and soothing her cries, Kaede just held her, while everyone began to inspect the damage, cleaning up the bodies and helping the injured.
“Kagome, breathe child.” Kaede whispering soft words to calm her down. When the sobs had finished racking her small frame, Kagome sat up, wiping her glistening eyes. “Daughter, you are more than I had ever hoped you could be. I’m so proud of you.”
Hearing those words, Kagome began to cry again. She was so glad her mother was alive, she really missed her.
“Mother, how did you know that I would do it?” Kagome asked, holding Kaede’s hands in their laps, knees still touching.
“You’ve always been a special child, powerful in the many things you did. I knew that without a doubt, that you would’ve done anything in your power to save everyone.”
“What do we do now though? We have no home to go back to.” She sighed sadly, looking around at the remaining burnt cottage.
“Kagome,” King Toga walked towards them, a silent Inuyasha at his right, King Sesshomaru at his left, “You are a royal. The castle and the Eastern Kingdom is yours. You will always have a home in our kingdom as well if you so choose. I have faith you will do what is right.”
Biting her lip, she watched as a worried look came across Inuyasha’s features and disappear before anyone could notice. She knew what she wanted, her friends, to spend more time Inuyasha, her future mate, her mother back in her life.
“I have an idea, if we could talk in private?” Kagome turned towards King Toga who simply raised an eyebrow at her, guiding her away so they could talk in private.
As everyone arrive into the small village, everyone began to spread out to find housing for the night. The mythical creatures had gone back to the forest to nurse their wounds, mourn their loved ones and wait in anticipation for what their beloved princess would decide. Calliope giving Kagome a tight hug before flying next to Althea and disappearing.
Settling Kaede in a small room for some more rest, Kagome gathered her cloak and pendant, almost putting both on, before deciding that would let her wings be free for the rest of her days. A soft knock against her door and Kagome opened the door to see a nervous hanyou standing before her.
“Inuyasha, what’s wrong?” She asked, almost laughing at his face, before covering it with a grin.
Noting her smile, he blushed, “What did you and Father come up with? He won’t tell anyone besides Sesshomaru what it is. He wants to get back home before announcing anything. He also said the wolves would be arriving in the village soon, so he wanted to bring theirs and his army back with us as well.” He rambled on, “Why can’t anyone tell me? Is it because I’m not a king yet? And now, you’re the Queen of the Eastern Kingdom?”
“Inuyasha, Kaede is resting, let’s go for a walk.” Kagome sighed before gesturing ahead of her, knowing he wouldn’t stop until someone gave him an answer.
Nodding his head slightly, he only followed her towards the forest line, where fireflies had begun to light up the trees around them. Her wings, basking in their soft glow, flapped a few times, before she spun around, making him almost bump into her.
Laughing softly, “Inuyasha, look at me please.” Waiting until he finally raised his amber gaze at her, she began.
“Your Father wanted to keep it a secret until we could talk things out, but he is fully on board with all of the plans. He also wanted to talk to Koga as well. Before I tell you any of that, I wanted to ask, do you still want me as your mate?”
Growling a yes, Inuyasha reached for both of her hands, admiring how soft they were. Laughing again, she started talking to him about their future.
“Since now I guess I am a queen, I can only be with royalty, which is perfect because you are royalty,” she said with a playful glimmer in her blue eyes, “however, you are in line for your own throne.” Shushing him when he tried to retort, she continued.
“I want a life with you and my mother in it. I want a life where I can truly help people. I want somewhere I can call home, learn more about my past and be happy and I will have all of that with this new plan of ours, given Koga would be okay with it. Sesshomaru is fine, nothing would change much for him, except title.”
Confused now, Inuyasha gave her the weirdest look. Laughing loudly this time, she reached up to kiss his cheek, both of them blushing, “All will be told soon, I promise, but there is something else I wanted to ask.” The confused look never leaving his face, she continued to speak. “We’ve only known each other a short time and in that time, you’ve told me I was your mate. We’ve been through hell and back in that time and I want to have a life with you. I know I said I wanted to take things slow, but after this exhausting day, I want nothing more than to be with you. I like seeing you smile, somehow when I’m with you, it’s like I feel relieved and safe. I want to be by your side forever, if you’ll let me. Prince Inuyasha of the Northern Kingdom, will you marry me?”
As soon as she finished the word me, Inuyasha pulled her closely and kissed her with all the passion he could muster, making her laugh against his mouth, before joining him in ravishing his own. A few claps came from behind him, making him growl in embarrassment as he broke their kiss and turned to see his father, Miroku and Sango smiling broadly at them.
“I thought you would’ve asked her son.” Toga laughed loudly, clapping him on the shoulder, while Sango and Kagome squealed, hugging each other. Miroku simply smiled.
“Oi, I know that look monk, don’t even think about it.” Inuyasha grumbled at them both, latching his hands with his now fiancé.
The days passed, as King Koga, who agreed the plan and congratulated the couple on their betrothals, joined what remained of their group as they headed back to the castle. Kagome beamed in happiness the whole way back, receiving many blessings for their union, and knowing looks from a suspicious monk. Inuaysha had to growl many times at him before he backed off, only to be slapped upside the head by the annoyed demon slayer. Kohaku and Sesshomaru even congratulated them, keeping to themselves the whole way back. Kagome could tell in the Western King’s soul he was pleased at the events, he was just also in a hurry to get back to his pregnant wife.
As soon as they had arrived back at the castle, Rin had come barreling out of the wooden door towards them, hollering for Sesshomaru to hurry, that Queen Kagura was in labor. Slapping his oldest son on the back, he ushered everyone inside, while picking up the small rambunctious child, making her squeal in excitement. He announced they would discuss everything after a meal and Kagura’s labor, his fellow kings and queens needing some much needed some rest.
After what seemed like a lifetime to Inuyasha, he was settled in his room for the evening, when Kagome knocked softly on his door. Yelling to enter, he watched her shut the mahogany door quickly before coming over to the set of chairs near the fire, taking a seat in the empty one, facing him.
“Kagura had a healthy baby girl, Kanna. She looks a lot like Sesshomaru.” She spoke softly, smiling at him.
Smiling back, “I hope she has her mother’s personality then.” Both of them laughing together quietly, “So we will be discussing everything tomorrow then?” He asked, his eyes almost feral in the light of the fire.
Nodding and humming her yes, Kagome began to yawn, stretching her arms up high, her wings shaking a few times before folding along her back. Gold dust covered the back of the chair. “I was wondering if I could sleep here, with you,” she started, a blush coming across her warm cheeks, “Kaede is sleeping in my bed.”
“I would love that, I wonder just what will my mother think?” He smirked at her, getting to his feet and holding out his hand.
Taking his hand in hers, het thumb rubbing the back of his affectionately, Kagome laughed, “It was your mother’s idea actually.”
“Well, I can’t ignore a royal command then, can I? Do you have everything you need to retire?”
Nodding, Kagome let Inuyasha guided her to his overly large bed, covered in ruby satin bedding. Pulling her closely to his chest, they both closed their eyes.
After breakfast and the good news of the new baby the next morning, the head royals, save Izayoi, sat in King Toga’s meeting room, discussing out the details.
“You would be okay with just being a lord, King Koga?” Toga asked, surprised at his agreement.
“As long I get to keep my land and pack, I’m okay with whatever. Queen Kagome will rule fairly along with Prince Inuyasha.” He shrugged, leaning back in his velvet chair, crossing his arms.
“I agree too,” Queen Ayame chimed in, looking at the fairy queen, “I think you would be fair and just. You could help so many others, better than we ever could, you have a kind heart that would be good for everyone.”
“Thank you Ayame.” Kagome smiled at her, knowing they would be good friends in the future, if only to keep ahold of their mates and their tempers.
“Have you agreed to be Inuyasha’s mate?” Sesshomaru asked when the room began to grow quiet.
Nodding, “I have. We talked about it before the battle and what all it means to be a mate,” she added, blushing, “Along with me proposing to him in the village before we left.”
Nodding as well, while Ayame squealed in excitement, Sesshomaru turned towards to his father, “Father, I guess it’s time for a celebration.”
“I agree son. You too are okay with this?” He asked.
“The same thing as the wolf, as long as I keep my titles and western lands, I am content.” He simply stated. Gathering their seals, Kagome using her power to create one for herself, they all signed a document stating the new lands, titles and rulership.
“Now,” King Toga began, standing from his chair, “Let’s plan a wedding and coronation, for our royal majesty, Queen Kagome.”
Epilogue
It had been a busy two months, between announcing to all four kingdoms that they would unite as one, how the lost fairy princess came to be found, the defeat of Naraku, a royal marriage, a coronation and a new royal baby, Kagome couldn’t wait for the full moon to come and go. Her wedding day, she was excited for, and for what was to come after, but planning everything was so exhausting. She was grateful for the help for Kaede, Lady Izayoi, Lady Aayame and Sango to help, however, she missed spending time with her beloved hanyou and her funny little fox kit.
“Well Queen Kagome, are you ready for tomorrow?” An amused voice asked, the hanyou himself strolling into their sleeping chamber.
“Why yes, Prince Inuyasha, I am. But I am not a queen yet, merely a lost princess who found her way home.” She smirked, laying in their shared bed, waiting for her soon to be husband to join her.
“Tomorrow is going to be a lot, it’s also the full moon, are you sure you’re okay with all of this? We can take more time before mating?” He kissed her softly, waiting for he answer.
“I’m positive, I have never been anymore positive in my life.” She stated with confidence, before kissing him again, not of them settling in for the night.
Waking her up before dawn, Izayoi and Sango rushed into their bedroom the next morning, shooing Inuyasha out of his own bed before turning their attention to Kagome. Grumbling to himself, he went to join his father and Miroku before beginning to get ready for the day. His Father had planned to greet the remaining guests, while many mythical creatures that were arriving as well. Kagome had wanted to invited the entire kingdom, knowing this was as important for them as well as for her. They decided to hold the ceremony in the garden outside, so many people could see. Kaede would be performing the coronation, while Miroku would be ordaining the wedding. There was also a small celebration for baby Kanna, announcing her arrival to the world. The festivities would begin around lunchtime and going long into the night.
Brushing her wings away from her lace veil, Kagome turned towards the full length mirror, smiling at her appearance. Lady Izayoi did not disappoint, her dress was stunning and perfectly made for her. She briefly mentioned Sango helped a little with the design as well, Aunt Mara supplying some of the fabric. Her floor length dress fluffed out bit, bit not too much, so not to get in the way of her wings, with still had twirls of gold and silver throughout them. Her hair, perfectly curled down her back, her flower crown up top her head, where later she would exchange it for a new one. Her sleeves, covered in a sheer lace, came up her arm, before leaving her shoulders bare. Her veil hanging in front of her face, obscuring her features, but she new with the light layer of make up, she looked radiant.
After expressing beautiful remarks and teary eyes thank you’s, the ladies left to gather their seats, Lord Toga would be walking her down the aisle. Gently squeezing her hands together, she waited in the hallway, the doors to outside closed, she could hear many voices and soft music playing.
“‘Gome?” A soft yip came from behind her.
“Shippo! You’re supposed to be in your seat, we’re about to begin.” She began to fix his small shirt, when she noticed his sad expression. “What’s wrong honey?”
“You’re not going to forget me are you? I know we haven’t been able to spend much time together with Naraku and the wedding and everything, I just miss my friend.” He swallowed the sob in his throat, a single tear falling down.
“Oh, sweetie, of course not. If anything, after today, we can spend so much more time together. I’ve really missed you too.” An idea come to her. “How about this, do you want to walk with me down the aisle today?” She smiled at him, wiping the tear from his cheek. She had no idea he was feeling this way, having not seen much of him since she arrived at the castle the first time they had arrived
He whimpered a small yes, while Lord Toga came around the corner announcing it was time. Raising an eye brow as his daughter-in-law held Shippo in her arms, she left the small bouquet of on a side table and lightly set her left arm on outstretch right. Nodding that she was ready, he smiled and the doors opened before them, music playing against the breeze.
If Inuyasha thought she was beautiful before, Kagome was positively stunning now, he thought as she began to glade down he aisle, Shippo in her arms. He knew the kit has been missing her, hell he had been missing her lately too. As she came down the aisle, flowers around her bloomed fully along the path, a soft scent of sunshine floating across his nose.
Miroku smiled at the two as she let Shippo into Lord Toga’s arms, who simply continue to hold him as he sat down next to his wife. Watching as he began the ceremonial words, Inuyasha took her hands in his.
After the drinking of the sake and blessing their union, the two shared their first kiss as a married couple, everyone bursting into applauds and cheer around them, while Kaede began to set up for the coronation. Lord Toga presented Kagome with a staff and a golden crown. Removing the flower crown, Inuyasha kissed her on the cheek, before stepping back to let his father crown the new queen.
Setting the crown adorned with red rubies and blue sapphires, Kaede finished and blessed the new queen on her marriage as well. Placing a right hand on the new papers they have formed in the meeting months ago, she began her promise, “I, Queen Kagome, will hereby protect all hose who come in need. I will honor those who have protected their country. I will restore peace among every creature, person and demon. I will serve my country to best of my ability. I will serve my people.”
Raising the cup of blessing sake, Toga proudly stated loud and proud, “May I present Kagome Aureila Takahashi, Queen the Four Kingdoms! ” everyone bowing in response. Smiling, Kagome excited to begin her new reign, her new marriage, her new life.
Hours later, after people began to wish the new couple happy blessings, dancing the night away and enjoying a delicious feast, Kagome grew tired and wanted to retire for the night. She was excited to finally mate with her husband. Smiling to herself, she wish a Calliope and Althea goodnight, before turning to look for her husband across the garden, catching his golden eyes, recently becoming her new favorite color.
Walking towards her, Inuyasha was bombarded with Lord Koga, who already a little drunk, blocked his view. Smiling at him sheepishly, Kagome gathered her skirt, heading towards the door, knowing he would find her soon. No one seem to notice, or if they did, they didn’t say anything, as Kagome strolled towards the castle, caressing the flowers along the way, the full moon shining brightly, her wings glittering the moonlight. Making it to her bedroom, she shut the door quietly, and faced the bed to begin the process of taking off her gown.
The door behind her opened and shut quickly, so quietly, she almost didn’t hear it. Gasping lightly, she felt Inuyasha stroke his finger down her trembling wings, before stopping to raise them again, grazing down her arm.
“Help me undress?” She whispered, hearing his gulp. He was a little nervous as well she gathered, this being both their first times. His hands began to untie her laced up back, loosening the corset as he went down. Feeling it completely loose on her upper body, Kagome removed her arms from her sleeves and held her corset to her chest, before turning to face her Inuyasha.
“Wife,” he murmured, “You are stunning.” He held her face as he leaned down to kiss her slowly, feeling her hand grasp his, her dress fall to the gown. When he pulled away from her lips and gazed down, he rumbled in appreciation, her lace stockings and undergarments highlighted her curves, her entire body glowing in the light of the fire. Taking his hands from her face, Kagome began to slowly unbuckle his belt, watching as his gaze never left her body.
Feeling her hands untucking his white tunic and settle against his toned stomach, he reached for her mouth again, settling his hands along her waist, pulling her closer.
“Husband.” She gasped against his lips, feeling his hands begin to roam across her back, soft stroke her wings before continuing down to her backside. She helped him remove his shirt, running her hands up and down his chest as he backed her towards their shared bed.
“Kagome, tonight I will make you my mate.” He whispered as he trailed kisses down her neck and behind her ear. Loving the sensation, she reached for his head to keep there, lightly caressing his ears with one hand, her other running fingers through his hair. Growling his approval, he bit softly on her neck, making her arch her laced breasts towards his own chest and groan.
Whimpering when he backed away from her neck, she felt the soft bedding against the back of her thighs and watched with wide eyes as Inuaysha used his claws to slice away at the binding around her chest, smiling at spike in her scent. Feeling a little more nervous now, she moved her cover her now exposed chest, stopping when Inuyasha grabbed her hands, intertwining them and bringing them to his chest.
“You are beautiful. Please don’t be ashamed.”
“I’m not, I’m just nervous.” She whispered, looking down.
“Koi, this is my first time as well. We will learn together. I’m going to follow my instincts and we have a lifetime to figure out our likes and dislikes.” He tugged on her chin, so she met his smoldering gaze.
Sighing in relief, she reached to pull him close again and kissed him, passion rising up in her. Bending her backwards slowly, he guided her to lay on the led, only pausing to take off his boots and pants. Crawling on the bed to lay next to her, he kissed her again, his body pressed flush against hers, her wings tucked in behind her.
Their kisses growing more intense, each other’s soft moans and growls being swallowed by the other. Kagome stroked Inuyasha’s ears as he started his trail down her neck. When he reached her left nipple, he began to suckle like a newborn baby, using his hand to pinch the other. Writhing beneath him, Kagome felt his tongue swirl in time with her hands stroking. Feeling this warmth in her belly spread towards to her nether regions, she felt more than heard his growl against her chest, before he switched to the other nipple.
As he brought the other flesh colored nipple to beautiful pink color, both fully erect, he started his trek down her tummy, before gazing at her lovingly.
“I love you.” He whispered.
“I love you, too.” She responded, moaning just as used his claws to shred her lace panties, leaving only her stockings along her legs, and cool air hit her opening. Inhaling, his eyes closed in pure bliss and he growled loudly when Kagome’s scent spiked even more, her flowers and sunshine adding a hint of pine and citrus. Purple marks began to appear along his cheeks and sides.
Reaching for her mate, Kagome stroked his marks with her left hand as he leaned in to them, rumbling softly, his eyes opening to gold with red seeping in. Mumbling an apology, Inuyasha kissed her palm before returning to her the area below her belly button, using his clawed hands to graze up and down her opened thighs.
Feeling herself fall back against the pillows fully, her eyes rolled back in her head and she let out a moan suspiciously like his name as his tongue began to lick at her lips. Feeling his smirk against her, the warmth in her stomach now spread through her like a wildfire, almost as if her powers were rising with her. Opening her eyes quickly, she made contact with an intense pair of eyes that gazed back at up her, a deep amber so intense, they could devour her.
Feeling the thread that was beginning to fray within her, she used one hand to stroke his ears once more, while the other gripped the pillow beside her head. By her actions and sounds, Inuyasha was sure she was almost there and judging by the grip along his head, dangerously close to his ears. As he continued to lap at her, he used his right hand to spread her apart, with his index finger rubbing the small button he located earlier. Kagome’s body began to thrash, her hips grinding against his face. Afraid he might hurt her, he used his free hand to hold down her thigh and laid on the other, feverishly speeding up to make her come.
For someone who had never done this before, he sure knew what to do, Kagome pondered, her mind going blank at the string snapped, a pleasure she had never felt before spreading through her entire body. Her vision, now speckled with white dots as her back arched off the bed.
“Inuyasha!” She screamed, causing her hanyou to pin his ears against his head as he licked everything, cleaning up all of her juices. Feeling her legs quivering beneath him, he let up and smirked at her flushed expression. She looked thoroughly ravished and blissful happy, eyes glazed over, staring at the ceiling above.
Gazing at him beneath lower lashes, Kagome beckoned him forward with her finger, reaching up to kiss him as he moved up. Tasting herself on his tongue, she swiped her own against his fang, Inuyasha rumbling, deepening their kiss.
Reaching for his undergarments, she pushed away the remaining fabric, both of them fully nude now. Running her palms down his chest as he was still kissing her, she reached for his cock, gasping softly as the soft skin beneath her fingers quaked. She was barely able to wrap one of her hands around his, but began to tug softly, causing him to grunt and remove his lips.
“If you keep that up, I won’t be able to finish in you the first time.” He kissed her softly, removing her hand from his manhood, before intertwining them next to her head. Nodding her understanding, she kissed his chest right above his heart, smiling softly for him.
Bringing her mouth back to his, Inuyasha continued kissing her, rubbing her body with his hands, before settling himself between her legs once again. Looking at her in question, Kagome nodded again, as he reached down and brought his cock towards her opening, slowly pushing inside slowly. His fangs lengthened, the marks on face and hips a dark purple now. His golden eyes, surrounded by red, gazed down at her lovingly. Kagome rubbed his cheeks soothingly, Inuyasha moving until he was fully situated inside of her. Feeling full, but not uncomfortable, she drew his mouth closer, willing him to move his hips.
What started as slow movements, turned to hard thrusts, causing him to hit her womb each time. Holding her hip in place with one hand, the other still intertwined with hers at her head, Inuaysha continued kissing her. With every thrust, the warmth in Kagome’s body began to spread again, this time burning brighter than ever before. Hearing a gasp from her lover, she opening her eyes to see his staring at her body, Inuyasha slowing his thrusts. She was actually glowing! Not wanting to hurt him, she tried to draw in her powers, but stopped when her soul reached for his, making her gasp as well.
Moaning his name, Kagome felt him pick up his speed again, and his soul opening up to hers. Feeling her climax coming close, she wanted him to fall into bliss with her. Wrapping her legs around his, moaning loudly when he hit deeper, Kagome closed her eyes as Inuyasha nipped at neck, sucking at her collarbone every so often. Knowing the string would snap once again, she let her soul open freely, joining his.
Her body going taunt as she screamed her release and Inuyasha roaring his completion as well, Kagome felt their souls become one, filling with each other’s with love, warmth, happiness and power. They were fully mated, the souls completely connected with each other’s.
Nuzzling her cheek, he pulled out slowly, and gathered her in his arms as she came down from her second high of the night. If sex was like that every time, he was never going to let her leave this bed, he thought happily, caressing lazy circles along her back.
Feeling content and happy, the two wrapped in each other’s arms, whispering soft things to each other through the night. They continued to explore each others body well into the night, before the finally drifted to sleep as the sun began to rise on the horizon, both silently thanking whoever above for the other.

Love And Flowers
Kagome awoke to the sensation of a pen drawing on her shoulder. Feeling the slight itch, she rubbed the area, slowly sitting up in her plush bed. Looking around and blinking the sleep from her eyes, she noticed it was a little after dawn, sighing knowing it too early for her day. While she knew she had a million things to accomplish on her to do list before dinner with Bankotsu, she wished for a little more sleep. Being a full time college student and a nurse took a lot of her time these days.
Feeling the drawing sensation again, she glanced at her shoulder, peeking out from the overly large grey tee shirt hanging off it, gray eyes widening quickly. Getting to her feet, she quickly dashed to the bathroom down the hall and flashed the lights on. Her mind suddenly filling with questions as her eyes adjusted, she stared at a small portion of a cherry tree blossom that stood out against her slightly tanned skin. Taking a deep breath, Kagome found herself going over all the myths and rumors she had heard regarding soulmate marks.
Legend has it, they appeared the same time as your soulmate, signifying that you were to meet that very day. Remembering her friends Sango and Miroku, their tales of meeting each other lined up with that statement. She knew from others that the placement varied, some appearing on wrists, collarbones and the back of the neck, her coworker’s appearing on his forehead even. The size and color ranged as well, some appearing as a small mark, the size of a quarter, and others the size of a hand print, brightly vivid marks stretching across a forearm. Growing excitedly and slightly nervous, Kagome shed her sleep shirt to stare, mouth gaping open at her upper torso.
In the reflection of her mirror, she stared at the deep brown branches that filled the space on her once bare skin, stretching from one shoulder to her neck, before disappearing and appearing on the opposite shoulder. Turning slightly, so she could look over her shoulder, she stared in disbelief as a magnificent tree trunk began at her hips and branched out, covering her entire back. The various shades of pink blossoms glittered slightly against glowing skin, almost as if the tree itself were alive. Gripping the counter to steady herself, Kagome watched in fascination and slight horror at the sight, her grey eyes roaming across her body, taking in the beautiful colors that now danced across her body.
