Inktober Day 11 : Sting
Medium : Digital Ink, G Pen
My take on Chelamma — the scorpion goddess from South Karnataka. Tried drawing her in the style of a Chola bronze sculpture because the temple she shares with Kolaramma is from the Chola period.
This Inktober, I'm planning on using the prompts to explore South Asia's folk traditions!

The Null Void is a Prison, and the majority of its prisoners are Blue
Not sure if this is actually a call out post or not, but I was just browsing through the Wiki and couldn’t help but notice that the dominant skin color in the Null Void is Blue. Out of all the aliens in all the universe that know of and use the Null Void as a prison colony, the majority of the people sent there tend to be blue (or blue-like). But don’t take my word for it, lets look at some picture!
First, the Null Void settlers.
These guys are supposed to be descendants of the FIRST prisoners/settlers/immigrants of the Null Void. According to the episode “Voided” which is part of the Alien Force arc, the Null Void was created by the Galvans and used as a penal colony. They shipped their criminals, political rivals, and social dissidents there. So, these guys are descendants of ancient Galvans. Obviously, they look nothing like MODERN Galvans from today (”today” meaning “at the time the series takes place), but its safe to say they share a common ancestor. Now, lets look at some modern Galvans.
They are gray. Maybe even taupe. But definitely not blue, or any variation there of. I find it very interesting that the Null Void settlers are supposed to be descended from Galvans, yet not only do they not resemble them physically (which could be explained by having to evolve to better survive in the Null Void), but they don’t share any pigmentation in common with them to even imply that they might share a common ancestor. This makes me wonder if the “penal colony” that the Null Void was created to be was actually a Galvan attempt at racial cleansing.
But Galvans aren’t the only ones that seem to get rid of the blue members of their species. Lets take a moment to look at another interesting case.
Tetramand.
Tetramand are red. Right. All red. We never see a Tetramand of another color in the franchise...
...except for the ONE Tetramand that was sentenced to the Null Void:
Kolar.
He appears in the episode “Basic Training”, in the Ultimate Alien arc. According to his backstory, Kolar sentenced to the Null Void by Magister Hulk. However, no reason for this sentence is ever given. Now, after he escapes, he does try to murder Hulka for revenge, so by the end of the episode we’re not meant to question him being sent back to the Null Void. But I find it interesting that the ONLY blue Tetramand we EVER see in the franchise is also the ONLY one that is banished from real space and sent to an alternate dimension.
Now lets take a look at some other prisoners of the Null Void.
Trukk, an inmate of Incarcecon. When we first meet him he’s just being released from solitary confinement, then he’s sent to work as slave labor in a drug mine. Now, we never learn what species he is, so we have no idea what the rest of his race looks like. But, you will notice, that he is a very lovely shade of blue.
Quince is more of a “gray-blue” than a true blue. But that could be attested to his age. Like Trukk, we never learn what species he is, so we have no idea what the rest of his race looks like. For all we know, when he was younger, he could have been just as blue as Trukk, Kolar, or the original Settlers.
So, it kinda looks like the universe of Ben 10 is actively discriminating against people with blue skin, and its happening across multiple species.
for those who don’t know, Brandy used to be my mascot before eventually moving on to Bolivia
fun fact: English isn’t Brandy’s first language, her first language is actually Croatian
also, if you guys want the English version, I’ll upload it as soon as possible
DON’T STEAL!!
A black buck
I travelled about 100kms in search for a few migrant species to Kolar. While, I didn’t find the European bee eater that I went looking for, but I found this black buck in the grasslands looking at me.
