oh this was a great video
it isolates something ive tried to communicate myself
the dialectic of marxism is the basis of society, but does not form its totality
things are based in material conditions, but there's other social and cultural stuff on top
one of the best videos ive watched in awhile
a decent article that highlights my worries about the Belarussian protests. i'm all for overthrow of corrupt leaders, but with poland and hungary (former soviet states) going down the tracks they are ... im a bit worried
if things go well i think it could lead to similar unrest in hungary/poland (poland is also being sanctioned by the UN for antiLGBT stuff, i do not know about hungary yet)
Liberals and leftists blindly supporting the Belarus protests in the name of ‘freedom’ are ignoring something important – the living standar
weed
also i am tired of hearing about some "authority axis"
authority is something all governments must utilize in order to maintain their existence. you cannot be "more authoritarian" because authority is solely something you either have or not.
instead you should judge governments and institutions based on their uses of that authority.
silencing any dissent? not okay.
silencing reactionaries? okay.
prisoner labor camps? not okay.
having prisoners? okay.
like this idea of 'authoritarianism' was explicitly invented to surpress and discredit leftist revolution.
george orwell specifically as a source of these ideas has historically been directly promoted by the US government and CIA in measures to combat communism. as well you should note, the CIA itself is inherently reactionary and undemocratic seeing as it is responsible for numerous coups in the past century
in addition, this notion creates a glaring (and strategic) divide between communists and anarchists so that they do not realize that they share the same goal and unite among themselves to achieve it.
im all for young people getting involved in the stuff they see going on around them in the world
but like they're still kids. you can't just expose them to graphic violence like that - as someone who saw way too much graphic violence from like Everywhere from as young as 14, that shit messes with your undeveloped brain
be informative, use discretion, and know when to take a break from talking about the situation
im serious, you need time to recooperate. we've had six years to learn how to keep mentally healthy in a crisis - and it's important you keep a hold of yourself, bc you're no help if you dont
conservatives have brain rot
"socialism is like welfare but you're evil"
this rot is called propaganda, and it makes you not have critical thinking
