THE GRAND FINALS
HINAAZU vs KOONYA
Hinaazu (Scrapped Doduo Baby)
Koonya (Scrapped Meowth Baby)
I saw Beta Meowth (コーニャ Koonya) again from the Gold/Silver 1997 Spaceworld build and I just had to recreate the Regional Meowths as babies. Alola Meowth I pulled reference images of Russian Blue kittens, while Galar Meowth I looked up ragdoll kittens for fluff and size... and on a whim made it 'older' because while trying to draw sleeping kitten I remembered the 5 (6?) week old kitten discovered taking care of a box of 1 (2?) week old kittens. So.
(Galar Konya's floating coin is supposed to be a riff off a lot of different medieval silver coins, smaller ones are silver pebbles. Alola Meowth has a floating coin since Alola Meowths were originally from another region but said fleck of metal is being squished against its head.)
koonya says trans pride!
So I was in a depressing mood today - I was thinking about Pokémon that never made the cut. I decided I wanted to draw Robert petting Mikon (baby Vulpix) which naturally led to the most obvious conclusion - I drew Jody petting Koonya (baby Meowth). I’m not happy with how her arm turned out (and I meant to make it muscular because this is X-era Jody not GX-era Jody)

Koonya from Pokemon Gold/Silver Beta?
I had them under the alternate name, Meowsy, but let's take a moment to look at them again
For the seventh and final entry in the Paradex, it finally lives up to the name of Baby Pokéganda with four unused Baby Pokémon, plus a baby form of Kotora edited from a prototype Pichu.
Myaa was originally created as its own post, and the Gender variation is based on the original sprite for Koonya. The three different coins surrounding the original sprite seemed to be a study rather than an actual part of the model, although art that draws it as such is valid.
The regional forms of Canta and Trevul (aka Mikon) are more than simple palette swaps, as much work was needed to get their coloring to work with the palette limitations I constrained myself to.
Bonus Lore: Some professors speculate that Eggs are a phenomenon exclusive to Pokémon bred in captivity, allowing Pokémon to develop without having a full family to support them. This could be why Pokémon typically hatch fully grown, or even as already-evolved forms in some cases.
