Also known as Kooshdakhaa, Kushtaka is a shape shifting creature found in Tlingit and Tsimshian folklore. Kushtaka are known to take form of otters, humans, and sometimes other forms too. Some are cruel and enjoy tormenting people while some are helpful and kind.

The Kushtaka is a shape-shifting creature from the folklore of the Tlingit and Tsimshian people's of America's Pacific Northwest. The Kushtaka most often appears in the form of a human or an otter, but many believe they can take on other guises.

In some stories, Kushtaka are helpful creatures, saving people lost in the wilderness from freezing to death by transforming them into a Kushtaka themselves. Others, however, claim that the shape-shifters are mischievous or downright evil, luring people into rivers, where they will tear them to shreds.
