아니요 and 아니에요 아니요 and 아니에요 both can translate as "No" depending on the sentence. However, they are not the same. ✏️아니요 • 아니요 simply means "No". It is responding to the Yes/ No questions. • The opposite of 아니요 is 네. • The casual form of 아니요 is 아니. Eg 이거 먹을래요? (Do you want to eat this?) 아니요. (No) ✏️아니에요 • 아니에요 is the conjugated form of "아니다" which means not/ not to be (something). • The structure A은/는 B이/가 아니에요 means ‘A is not B’ • The opposite of 아니에요 is 이에요 or 맞아요. • 아니에요 is also used as a response to “thank you” • The casual form of 아니에요 is 아니야 and the formal is 아닙니다. No. It's not the first time 3. 가수예요? Are you a singer? 아니요, 가수가 아니에요. 요리사예요. No, I’m not a singer. I’m a chef. 4. 우산 빌려줘서 고마워요. Thank you for lending me your umbrella. (감사할 일) 아니에요. It's not (something to thank me for).
