~에 가요/와요

for right now, i am using the Soo and Carrots Grammar Textbook to learn Korean grammar, and I think it's going well.

가다 means to go, 오다 means to come. They are both used with 에 to show the direction/destination. In this situation, it is translated as "to". For example:

언니가 오늘 학교에 와요. My sister comes to school today.

지금 집에서 가요. Im going home now.

록시 씨는 도서관에 가요. Ruxi goes to the library.

Hello! I've been giving Korean lessons for a while now and I have a few constant students but I thought I would expand it a bit.

I'm not native Korean but I've been studying for 4 years and I major in English and Education so it gives me enough to tutor beginners.

Lessons are one-on-one via Zoom. First hour(60min) is $10 and if you like it and want to continue studying with me, every hour(60min) will be $15!

😲 WHAT DO I CALL THIS IN KOREAN? 😲

I've been living in Korea for over 3 years but to be honest, I don't particularly know a lot of things. Especially things that I don't have to mention, ever, I don't find it necessary to learn the names, which turned out to be troublesome sometimes.

I went out to get my daily dose of tea a few days ago, it is winter here so of course I picked the hot one and then asked for a straw (빨대) because they didn't give me one. And of course, they gave me the big, chunky, normal straw, not the small and flat one. I had to describe to them again what I wanted and then they went "Oh, you mean the 십스틱".

Needless to say, I learned something new that day.

New Daily Life

I’m actually pretty whipped after today. It was my first day of organized training and I pushed myself as much as I could. I also began my first day of Korean classes and I am so excited to continue. It’s gonna be super fun learning more! I’m going to gradually start planning my days out and work hard routinely. I can’t wait to see where this will all take me.
