Hello! I’m on my way to Korean language.
One tiny step at a time.
I’m self‑studying Korean while living with severe chronic illness, which means my pace is unpredictable. Or maybe predictably uneven? Mostly slow. Very slow. But I'm working on accepting that, and not letting it frustrate me.
I learn slowly, I learn gently, and with a lot of improvisation.
Nothing is straightforward, but even after all this time I am absolutely mesmerized with Korean language. And even a few new words give me such a sense of achievement. I am learning to let go of my competitiveness and enjoy the cozy Korean afternoons, cocooned in my bed with my textbook, notebook, my favorite pen (alright, penS) and too many sticky notes. I'm all analog study.
I do like studying on my own, learning Korean the way I want, the way I can. But it does get a little lonely on the solo study road, so I’m here to meet other Korean learners, other language enthusiasts, strange people like me whose hearts beats a little faster when they think about all that delicious knowledge waiting for them to scoop it up.
I would like to share notes, cheer on other learners, and make this journey feel a bit less isolated.
Come say hi.
