Life’s simple joys: a little beef & leaf on a Thursday night with @first_soju_canada and @natalieast at @daldongnaeto. On Wednesday night I was walking through #koreatowntoronto and stumbled upon a beautiful @ktocanada mural that made me tear up. • For new followers, I lived in Korea for 3 years from 2015-2018 (a year in Busan and 2 years in Seoul). I met some of my closest friends to this day and was mesmerized by the juxtaposition of old and new ‘round every corner. That mural was especially poignant for me because not only have I visited all those places represented, my little studio apartment was a short walk from @lotte_worldtower. I miss the neon lights prevalent in smaller neighborhoods. I miss the expat community; the feeling of a small town within a city of 10 million. I miss the obstacles of learning a new language with a new alphabet while completely immersed.
