lok is coming to netflix on august 14 and i swear to god. i swear to god. i swear to FUCKING god,
it still baffles me how b4 is considered the best season considering all the mishaps from nick and the writing involved...
i've always thought that b3 is often considered to be the best korra season, but b4 is still regarded pretty highly..... mmmmm..... bites lip..... i have Thoughts about why, and most of them have to do with people enjoying seeing korra’s redemption arc including her being “humbled”....... grumbles about not opening that can of worms again......
wtf is masook?!? i remember everyone shipping korra with literally every character but i can't recall that
mako/hasook i think????????? hasook being the waterbending who quit the fire ferrets in the beginning of ep2 and we never saw him again..... and there were a bunch of theories that he disappeared bc he was kidnapped by amon.......
do you dislike bryke?
it’s hard to completely hate the team that brought us ATLA, which meant so much to me as a kid, but i’m not thrilled with them after LOK. when they moved from larger sociopolitical themes like war, colonization, spirituality (ATLA) to interpersonal social themes like gender and sexuality (LOK), i think that’s when they lost me. if you’re poc, lgbt, a woman, or disabled, it’s hard to listen to able-bodied cishet white guys say “maybe you’re the one that’s biased” after they tortured their bisexual woc protag for four seasons and still take them seriously.
so if i do read or watch anything else by them in the future it’ll be with one eye open u know? i don’t doubt they put their hearts and souls into what they do and they’re better than most at producing consistent quality scripts for younger audiences, but i guess what i’m saying is i won’t go out of my way to cross paths with them again, especially if their future work also focuses on those interpersonal social issues
Sorry if you talked about this before, but what do you think of the news that Korra comics are going to be made? Are you gonna read them or nah?
no no don’t apologize, i haven’t talked abt it
i guess i might, but i remember losing a lot of my interest in atla universe comics after all the hype about “the promise” didn’t seem to pay off and i grew disappointed in some story choices. i know it was a different writer, but bryke were coordinators on that too iirc? i also sometimes find it difficult to pay attention to graphic novels (i have a hard time reading manga for some reason, it’s why i prefer to watch an anime adaptation if there is one). i’ll probably see what the lok comics reviews are like after its publication and if people think highly of it then i’ll give it a go. if not i’ll prob just read a wiki page like i do for most comics bc i’ll still be curious to know what happens in it lol
Oh so um, before going to sleep last night I had a crazy crossover idea
Inquisitor Korra and Commander Asami
Terrible idea? Awesome idea? I just especially like the idea of lovely Asami sporting Cullen’s fur fluff and how bamf she’d look... :P Also, ladieeesss
gurukorrasami replied to your post:Pro-bending still makes no sense to me I mean the...
You just described essentially all sports except it’s longer and they sell alcohol so it’s still really the same thing
No because you see you said “it’s longer” people go to these events and they last for hours. Hours that you spend getting involved with the crowd, talking with your friends and family, relishing the breaks, waiting anxiously for the next development, getting set up and comfortable, eventually growing tired and wanting to leave...
Pro-bending is like showing up to a baseball game and watching them play one inning. Watching a football game and letting both teams have one drive. Watching a basketball game in a race to 20 points. If that.
It’s a completely different animal.
