The wings on Jimin’s back were heavy, the white feathered objects pulling on his back. He sighed, resting his head on his hand. His legs swung as he rested on the kitchen counter, watching as you took a sip of your drink, your eyes bright as a playful smile flickered on your lips. The boy beside you grinned, running a hand through his hair, his expectations for how this night would end too high for Jimin’s liking. A frown found it’s way across his face as the boy in question lay a hand on your arm as he tilted his head, a question leaving his lips.
His heart beat faster as you looked in his direction as a friend called your name. He swore you looked straight into his eyes. But he knew the truth, the truth that you didn’t know he existed. You didn’t know how many times he had saved you, how many close calls you had. And you didn’t know that the blonde haired angel had fallen in love with you despite all the regulations.
~~~~~~
He watched as the same man as before drunkenly whispered something in your ear, his words slurring. His heart broke as you nodded eagerly, a giggle escaping your lips as you downed the rest of your drink. The man’s lips suddenly on yours as you both seemed to ignore the crowd that had filled your house. A pout formed on Jimin’s lips as tears filled his eyes, his heart aching as you disappeared into the bedroom, the man following behind you.
It was at that moment, Jimin decided to go. He had seen enough to know his heart wouldn’t recover for a while. He had been warned. Warned by everyone who knew how easily he fell in love. But he had denied it, explaining that he would never take the risk of falling in love with a human.
But here he was, crying over you. He wasn’t sure when he fell in love, or even why. Whether it was the way you lit up a room, the way you didn’t share your burdens, trying to prove that you could manage, or if it was the time you were late to work because you found a hungry kitten and had insisted on feeding it. Jimin’s heart warmed with every memory, the slight ache dimming as he recalled your innocent smile, only to hurt once more when he remembered he could never make you smile like that.
Slowly, you awoke, your eyes fluttering as you got used to the light entering through the curtains. A groan escaped you as you looked beside you.
“Jungkook.” You hissed, nudging him. He only mumbled, pushing your hand away before turning over, a soft snore quickly leaving him.
You had fallen to your usual habit. A habit you swore you would leave behind when you found him kissing another girl. But last night was different, the never-ending feeling of someone watching you meant you had been drinking more alcohol than you usually would allow yourself to. It was more strange than anything, maybe even comforting. You weren’t sure why, but you weren’t afraid of the presence you sometimes felt.
~~~~~~~~
Stepping out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped tightly around you, you stopped dead in your tracks, the feeling of not being alone returning as you noticed a single white feather on your pillow.
