He’d be mad confused by a chick pulling him over to talk to him 😭, especially if he doesn’t really talk to her beforehand. But he’s not gonna be mean to a girl, so he’ll hear her out

MITSUI WOULDNT KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT, so a girl professing her feelings would make him so flustered. He would be quiet and kinda lost for words

WOULD DEFINITELY INVITE TO WATCH HIM AT PRACTICE, I think he would be really curious and want to know more about her. Also I just know Mitsui would feel dumb for not knowing a cute chick liked him

Mitsui might not be as obnoxious as Sakuragi or Ryota, but he is gonna brag about it to his teammates too. Like when that girl shows up to their practice, he’s gonna be lowkey smiley and be telling his teammates “Yeah she likes me 😏”

Miyagi

tbh I ship him hella with Ayako but this can be like a hypothetical thing 😭

Honestly I think he’d be confused at first, but he picks up on where the conversation is going and he gets hella hyped. He hears the girl out, and he makes a big smile. I think he’d say something like “Wow I’m happy you think that of me,”

Bro would not know how to act LOL. Like he literally hasn’t gotten to this stage with girls before. But he would also be curious about the girl, so I think he’d give her a chance. Plus I really can’t imagine him rejecting a girl 💀

He wouldn’t really know what to do after all that, and he’d think on it for a while. But he would also invite the girl to watch their practices.

Ryota is gonna be straight up FLEXING, talking about his unspoken rizz and having hella game to the whole mf team 😭. He will ask the girl to go out for food after practice though.

Yohei

I feel like Yohei would kinda know even before?? He’s an attentive person, I think he would notice a girl always eyeing him. He would like the attention too

Yohei would know what was going on if a girl approached him all nervous and stuttering, but he’d still hear her out ofc.

He doesn’t really come off as the type to reject someone, I think he’d want to see what would happen with someone even if he didn’t fully reciprocate.

I FEEL LIKE HE’D THANK HER, if he doesn’t reciprocate, he wouldn’t say that straight up. I think he’d invite the girl out for food after his work shift is over.

Yohei would talk to the girl and find out what type of person she is, bro is definitely gonna walk around with her whenever his homies aren’t around. He’d be really casual about it to his homies initially, and then flex on them

Fukuda

Fukuda doesn’t really come off as a stupid guy, he would probably notice the girl beforehand, especially if she was really obvious about it.

He would still be surprised when the chick is confessing to him though, he would be dead silent and just processing it.

He’d be mad quiet for at least a minute, thinking of words to say so he doesn’t sound mean or anything.

Fukuda would start off by thanking her. I feel like he isn’t the type to instantly go out with someone that likes him (despite him liking praise)

I imagine him thanking him for what she said, and that he’d think on it (or something like that) and from then on, he would watch the girl from afar and learn about her little by little

Hikoichi

Hikoichi seems like the type to admire instead of being admired (both in basketball and love). Like he seems like the type who has hallway crushes, but would never say a word to them.

He would definitely be nervous about a girl confessing to him and hearing all that being told 😭 but he’d get so happy.

i can totally see him being like “omg really?? What made you into me??” Part of him would legitimately wonder how a girl was into him, since he’s not very popular or talented in basketball

Koshino comes off as a dude that doesn’t necessarily pay much mind to girls. Like he doesn’t not care about them, but they aren’t his number one priority either.

He’d be kinda taken aback at a girl approaching him outta the blue. But he isn’t gonna be rude and walk away 💀

Koshino wouldn't really know what to say initially, but I think he’d be pretty straightforward about it. He isn’t gonna be mean, but he would tell her that he doesn’t know her well enough to reciprocate but that he does want to know her better

I’m ngl he seems most likely to reject the girl 😭

Review Proper

Before anything else, I’m going to start off this review with a little backstory of how I became trash or this persona that I am now. As we all probably did, I switched from genderbent shoujo to BL because I finally realized that the equality and lack of sissy spineless female leads I was looking for was in BL (this proved to not be a general truth later on). However, it wasn’t until I discovered BLCDs and BL games that I evolved into the first version of the trash can that I am now. Special mention to Aarin, YO, Hongfire, Otome Dream, Airavalky, Doramabaka, VN Sharing, BL - Каталог игр, boyslove-cd, snowmiyu, 4shiki (if you know 4shiki and felt that we have similarities, now you know why), and chem-is-amani for paving the way. 🤧 Also, I’m so fucking old.

During that era, there weren’t a lot of BL games with considerable plot because porn always sold better; and when it wasn’t porn, it was...meat eating dark Nitro Chiral. *war flashbacks* When Lucky Dog 1 came into the scene, it just changed my and dare I say, the whole BL game world forever. I would be lying if I said that it didn’t have it’s faults, but this game was so fucking insane (in a good way) and fun for something so dark! I loved every single character in here, but nothing would ever top the love that I had over my one lord and savior Gian Carlo Bourbon Del Monte and Tattsun.

If I weren’t so invested in that man, this blog wouldn’t even exist. Heck, I don’t think that I would even like BL that much if it wasn’t for Tattsun and Gian. Gian was so different a character because he wasn’t a spineless crybaby unlike the other protagonists of his time. Dare I say, he was the first good vers character I’ve ever seen in my then *insert number below 18* years of life. 😂 Naturally, as I grew obsessed with Tattsun, I saw to it that I would have all the BLCDs he starred and was going to star in. I had everything on snowmiyu’s list of Tattsun BLCDs except for one thing; Bukatsu no Kouhai ni Semerareteimasu—the prequel of this series.

You don’t understand. I spent almost a year in looking for it. It wasn’t in Aarin, YO, VN Sharing, nor Airavalky. I even enlisted the help of my Taiwanese high school bestfriend to get me into Otome Dream and it still wasn’t there! Thankfully for me, by some stroke of luck, I found it on some sketchy Russian site and I finally had the complete Tattsun package! Best believe I cried that day.

Anyway, back to the real review, when I found out that this was getting an adaptation, I actually didn’t for one second doubt that Wacchan and Tattsun were coming back for their roles. I was that CONFIDENT, folks. Part of me thinks that this is because Wacchan and Tattsun loves me enough to come back seeing the amount of effort I put in into finding BukatsuSeme. 😤 However, I knew next to nothing about the sequel and considering that this was made in the 1800s, I might not like the plot.

BOY WAS I WRONG

True, there still was some assault here when Kiyomiya was teasing Makino, but bruv, the comedy was so good here I was shitting bricks laughing over everything! I mean, what the hell was this?! I never expected this at all! I haven’t laughed that hard over a BLCD in a long ass time. Kiyomiya and Makino were just so dumb and y’all know how I feel about idiot sons. 😭😭😭 For a work that was born during an era where people was still mostly invested in porn, the plot on this one got me more laughing during the examinations if anything. Fuku was also a very welcome presence and as were Moriya and Yoshitake. Istg everyone was a comedian! God, I really am hoping that they continue adapting this because it be lit. 😭😭😭

The voice acting here was phenomenal! Gotta hand it to Cue Egg Label for always having great casting choices. Massu in particular was just perfect for Kiyomiya’s role. He was using his Kirishima tone here and since Kirishima and Kiyomiya have the same type of personality, it worked wonders. It was also strange that I didn’t hear the slightest of Ao-senpai in his voice even though I just listened to Cupid ni Rakurai 2. What a goddamn professional.👏👏👏 Junya, on the other hand, used a tone lower than his natural voice here (but still a tad higher than his Tatsumi’s, I think). Sometimes, I catch myself thinking that this was Shirai Yuusuke (similar in pitch) because when I think of Junya, I always hear Kai in my mind, but Kai wasn’t at all here like how Ao-senpai wasn’t in Kiyomiya’s. Damn, Massu and Junya really brought their game on. I mean, I expect no less. They were in the presence of kings and queens after all.

Though I did feel sad that we weren’t getting any Wacchan x Tattsun action here because Moriya and Yoshitake didn’t have a huge part in the story, I’m still happy because my boys men came back. 😭😭😭 Again, I’ve drilled their performance in BukatsuSeme into my brain because of all the effort I put into finding it that I know that they’ve pulled 2020 Moriya and Yoshitake off perfectly. I mean, they’re Gen 2′s. What did I even expect? I hope they still come back for the sequels if there be.

The comedy reminds me of Chishanomi’s Shinkon-san and I would really like to recommend both reading and listening to this. It is, however, hard to follow because they’ve added a lot of dialogue in and have changed the order of things, so it’s safe to say that it’s not beginner friendly. If you’re planning on still proceeding, I’d read the manga before listening to this so I’d have a background on what’s happening. It’s a shame that no one’s scanlated this, but the cleans on Koshino works are always hell. 💀 Anyway, you must all excuse me now. I gotta umm listen to Bukatsu and Doujin ni again. Ciao!
