OKAY so we all know that Ulqui discovered "the heart" (audience groans) because of Orihime and Ichigo -- how would things end up if he came back to life or lived somehow, then? Especially with Ichi/Hime becoming a thing, do you think "awkward pal Ulquiorra tries to learn about Emotions" would be likely? TL;DR: Ulqui is somehow Alive. How, given his death sequence, does he change as a person, if at all?

Going alongside my main verse where Ulquiorra does gain life once more (I need to write a drabble about it at some point -- preferably sooner than later...), his discovery of “the heart” (audience groans x2), or as its better known as, Human Emotions™, plays only a slightly larger role in his life. He doesn’t actively try and learn what the meaning behind certain emotions entails, or try and express them himself, but he will take note if the opportunity arises.
Mostly Ulquiorra is more tolerant than previously toward others expressing emotions, and while he is capable of understanding them more, he hardly thinks of them as necessary. The more extravagant and outlandish the emotion (i.e. fury rather than anger,, sorrow rather than sadness), the more annoyed he becomes.
On the other end of the spectrum, Ulquiorra is far less likely to become annoyed if the person in question showing said emotion is Orihime. The reason why is less obvious to him than he would like, but he attributes it to the orders Aizen gave before being defeated and captured.
As far as Orihime and Ichigo’s relationship goes, Ulquiorra isn’t terribly surprised by its outcome. Ulquiorra witnessed how far Ichigo went to save Orihime with his own eyes -- only what he witnesses with his own eyes exists and that act in itself was something of a manifestation of Ichigo’s own emotions toward saving her. However, I don’t ever think Ulquiorra would have any interest in Orihime’s family aside from checking on her from time to time.
In short, he understands, but doesn’t actively learn and is more tolerable in regards to emotion.
