i found this tarot card to be quite fitting for soph's arc, overall, and how much she's grown and changed and come into her own over the series; but i also found its reversed meaning (of unfulfillment, stagnation, a lack of proper completion) to be kind of apt for where she's at right now
originally, the four figures represent the four elements, and the harmony between them, but here i chose to do four different components of who sophie is – all kind of family members in their own way. one might say: bea, why is forkle not here, and to that, i'd respond, well, dear asker, i didn't want to draw his bitch ass
so these figures are amy (air sign, shown originally as a man), oralie (water sign, shown as an eagle), calla (earth sign, the bull), and prentice (fire sign, the lion)
the two wands held by the dancer here are meant as a homage to the magician (card ii) and since in the personal tarot canon i have in my own personal head, dex is the magician, i made these wands branches from sophie and dex's wanderling trees!
i think maybe one day the black swan might shift from an oligarchy to an emergency state presidency type leadership w one leader w checks and balances -- but in the end between the council and the black swan, what will sophie choose? i feel like the answer would be a lot more complicated than expected

In Rafah, we found shelter in a crowded warehouse filled with strangers, all of us struggling to find basic necessities like food, water, safety, and cleanliness. Despite these challenges, we were again hit by direct bombardment. My husband was injured in the shoulder, and the scene around us was filled with blood and corpses. The cries of my children in those moments still echo in my head.
A fragment of what it once was, and now, what it has become.
We moved several times to places described as safe, only to face new tragedies. During this period, my precious daughter Raja contracted hepatitis, adding to our suffering.
It was incredibly difficult for me to endure these disasters, especially as I was in the process of giving birth. Youssef was deprived of proper breastfeeding and the necessary nutrition for his age. Hussein's right to education and a safe childhood have been cruelly taken from him.
My baby Youssef, whom I clung to throughout the war, running with him through the rubble of shattered homes to escape.
At an age when Hussein should have been enjoying his childhood, all his rights were taken away from him.

biana is a double major BC SHE'S AN UNDERRATED SMART PERSON OF THE KOTLC CAST, she could totally take the course load bc she's passionate about both. i think the vackers are like a company and alden is like the CEO of it all. alvar is the bitter eldest son who lost his spot of inheritance to wonderboy... biana wants to start her own company instead of working under fitz. she wants to start a makeup/fashion company and help women build confidence!!
linh is so good with animals in the series and she adores them so i thought she would be a zoology major/marine bio. i don't think she would be actively involved in water or consciously choose it in a human universe. it's said somewhere in the books that she looks through wylie's elven music??? so i think she has a passion for music but her parents pressured her way too much on it that she started to dislike it.
marella is psychology so she can better understand her mother's bpd, she wants to remove the stigma of the disease. i also think she might be interested in civil engineering so its easier for the disabled in the city.... idk thoughts bc her backstory has so much potential bruh.

i think sophie would become a keeper... bc its literally in the series title... maybe emissary too? anyway i dont think shed be the happiest in her position but i think when she grows up she'll start to resemble oralie a lot. maybe some people will put two and two together but this might be eons after oralie resigns from the council and it becomes a little irrelevant at that point
sophie WILL go bald at a certain point when she has the biggest existential crisis
i dont know how to draw dex in general because i just dont have a clear image of who he is this late into the series... bc its been such a long time since book 9 and i havent preordered 9.5 yet

i love drawing biana shes just ugh. very gorgeous. cant tell if she'll live a celebrity life in the elven world or shed just mysteriously disappear for the longest time and have everyone speculate on what happened to the youngest vacker and she just comes back with like a billion luster book deal to write an autobiography of what she was up to and its basically her freaking out over the ugliest fashion trends ("i leave for three centuries and you guys make THIS a trending item of clothing????") bc biana will always stay biana
linh will cut her hair along with the silver tips. still do not know how the silver tip works. i love drawing her moles, i feel she just has to have a lot of them around her face. she volunteers for animal rehabilitation. she gives free seminars for young hydrokinetics to teach them how to control their abilities. what a woman
im the iffiest with his rendition but he probably grew out the silver tips with his sister and he toggles between keeping his bangs out of his face and keeping it down
weirdly, i think hed be a teacher of some sorts. maybe tutor for 5-10 year olds? i feel like hed be good with small kids
they get their ears pierced together. keefe's a little sadder as an adult. he also grew out his hair
fitz hasn't changed his style much
not sure why keefe is sad. i feel like the older he got in the series, the more sadder he got. it makes sense-- id be sad too. later on, he'll be happy again but i think seeing how long an elven lifespan is theyre probably still considered babies. he has time to figure it out
it'd be really nice if fitz became an author or journalist. i think alden should quit his job as emissary and write an autobiography. i think all the vackers should start journaling and not join evil organizations as a mode of therapy.

ANYWAY so i was thinking about fitz and itd be plot-wise kind of funny and evil if he was fighting the neverseen for example and one of his ear got cut off on the helix so he cant grow it pointy anymore -- and if his ears cant get pointy, then appearance-wise, he's just a human right
itd be so good for character development like symbolizing him maybe finding himself outside of being an elf, a vacker, etc. and more who he is as a person
but honestly i dont care about keefe nor fitz i care about the GIRLIES i care about biana and sophie and linh and marella and etc. mwah my kotlc girls
my personal headcannon is that biana grows up to become a wedding planner for elves?? or like a general events planner arranging parties and winnowing galas bc thatd be cute
itd also suit her like imagine her having her fashion sense and taste and not making it a part of her job and being a boring emissary or something thatd kill me inside. but then maybe she also faces backlash for not puting her talent as a vanisher into use and rendering it "useless" but her not giving a fuck bc biana's like that

i drew the vacker twins... tumblr converted me into liking fitz so now he's one of my favorite characters. personal headcannon is maybe in one of the battles the helix of his ear gets cut off as symbolism for an inability to grow long ears as he ages... i think thatd be an interesting character progression
