Been big thinking about the different religions on Kovaud. They all more or less worship the same pantheon of gods, but all have different views on the point of existence, how it all works, and what life after death is like.

Let's never forget the time my players found a very old grave that had the words "Here Lies Asmodeus" on it and dug it up.
Some fucked up worldbuilding I've done is the culture of fish people in my world have a lineage that resemble anglerfish. And yes. They reproduce the exact same way. There's a famous in-world romance novel written about it too.
On Kovaud, Dragons are born falling.
Once every few hundred years, an event which lasts for just a day known as the Dragonfall occurs. During this time, asteroids fall from the sky which burst apart midfall releasing a wyrmling from within who must then quickly learn to fly.
In the world of Kovaud all who dream travel to the ephemeral realm of dreams called Veil. Here they are subject to the fickle machinations of their subconscious mind as the part of the realm the find themselves in shifts and changes. This can sometimes leave them open to the influence and possession of demons, creatures from Abyss that seek to claw their way from being the stuff of nightmares into the reality of the material world.
I figured that since the demons of Kovaud are different enough from the ones found in the base lore of D&D, that I ought to make a warlock subclass for them! The Fiend patron didn't really feel like it would fit them anymore. I hope you enjoy!

The aboleths of Kovaud are an older species of demon. When a community find themselves each plagued by the same dream over and over each night, that is a sign that an aboleth has taken hold. Eventually more susceptible members of the community will become enthralled and begin living a waking dream, acting on the whims of the aboleth. This carries on until the entire community is enthralled, which then allows the aboleth to begin physically entering the waking world.
In Kovaud there are beings capable of granting "wishes". These beings are known as Janu. They are celestial beings bearing two faces which look in opposite directions and possess a large gemstone. When one encounters a janu, they will offer a singular wish. Once granted, the wisher is placed into a magical space within the janu's gemstone. The wisher, unaware of their containment, experiences the world as if it had been altered by their wish. The wisher is often only freed once they learn a lesson or realize their predicament.
So a tidbit about vampires in Kovaud. The most powerful and influential of them have flying castles. These castles are powered by blood magic and piloted using arcane harmonics. In order for a vampire to steer their castle they must vibrate the enchantments keeping it aloft in a certain manner. They commonly do so by blasting organ music which can be heard long before the castle is seen as it approaches.
So in essence some vampires have flying castles which move by playing an instrument.
