Dude… I knew the inevitable reveal of Rumi’s patterns was gonna be intense, but that ‘takedown’ scene was just BRUTAL.

For one, the setup was brilliant. With Mira and Zoey being lured away, the lights going out and Takedown starting to play (and Rumi’s reaction), cutting to real Mira and Zoey, then fake M and Z show up— It builds the suspense so well.

And the fact that Rumi thought that was really THEM throughout that entire scene??? And how uncomfortable she looks even while dancing along. Man I love it.

And that’s not even mentioning how violent it was when they took her jacket off. Fuck. And do NOT get me started on Rumi’s expressions in this scene. The whump/angst gremlin was FED tonight.

i do actually really dislike talk of media literacy/comprehension on this site bc it always just feels like people r delighting in the chance to be condescending as fuck n that annoys me but i must admit rn. there’s something incredible in seeing the response to a children’s movie w such an obvious message that just completely misses the point of what was being said LOL
