Apparently, I'm in a poll mood, in need of advice, and curious about something.

Before the Katara design sheet for the Cycle in Reverse AU is posted (because she won that poll, guys, she deserved it), I'd like to share a little conundrum I'm facing, and ask for your opinion. Is that okay? Yes? No?

Anyway~

I've been revising my Zuko-centric fic For The Spirits, making minor edits and generally just trying to get inspired to write more for it. However, as I re-read the whole thing, I realized that addressing Zuko's ship as the Wani doesn't feel as comfortable as it used to.

I attribute this to the fact that I've been using Kaesu as a name for Zuko's ship in my most recent fics, and have grown attached to it. Kaesu (in Japanese, 返す) means to restore, to overturn, and to retaliate. A fitting name for the ship of a banished Prince in a mission to restore his honor. (A Prince whose worldview is overturned—someone who will eventually retaliate against his nation's war.)

Kaesu fits more naturally with my vision of Zuko and my way of worldbuilding these AUs now. However, For The Spirits has been around for a while now, and the name Wani is already part of the story as we know it. So, my question is:

Should I change the name of Zuko's ship from Wani to Kaesu in For The Spirits?

Yes! Go and edit right now!

No, keep using Wani. Don't be greedy–it's already Kaesu in the other fics.

I didn't include Gravity Falls, since I think it's part of a different genre.

Edit: to clarify what "genre" means here, obviously some of these shows are very different. However, I feel like they are all part of a resurgence in Western Cartoons that largely happened due to ATLA. When deciding which shows to include, there were three criteria I used:

Is the show made by ATLA alumni

Do the show's creators say it was heavily influenced by ATLA?

Is a show centered around action, adventure, complex character dynamics, and worldbuilding?

This isn't an exact science, of course. I put Arcane on here largely because a lot of ATLA fans seems to absolutely love it. And I wasn't certain if I should include Steven Universe or Kipo here.
