We already know he can heal people without actually making skin-on-skin contact, and that he touches Dean just because.
But consider asking Dean to let him take his temperature in 11x10.
He could identify that the dead guy in My Bloody Valentine had a bladder infection by sniffing him. He diagnosed a hernia in a baby from a distance.
He also just had his hand on Dean's face.
Of course the Doylist perspective is that this is a funny gag, sure. But the Watsonian perspective here is that Cas is a crafty little perv (if you think it's meant as a rectal thermometer), or that he thinks he can make a breakthrough in Dean's walls by getting a finger in his mouth.
The choice of words with "let me" also....I mean great asking for explicit consent, but it also betrays that this is something he specifically wants to do.
Weird timing in context, but evidently Cas won't pass up an opportunity 😂.
Soooo much happened in my life in 2022 (well from end 2021 though 2022 really). I am so grateful for the friends both online and off who helped me get through it all 💜. I found myself focusing more on art and editing than writing - but I am really excited to share my Pinefest fic with you all in February!
The #1 creation I'm most proud of this year was my Haze Amv, but I am also blown away by how much my Me and My Broken Heart Amv took off - ending the year with almost 20k views - which is in-sane. Setting and sticking to a regular upload schedule has been motivating and rewarding - I'm excited to post January's video on Thursday too :).
Participating as an artist in a couple of bangs for the first time had me stepping out of my comfort zone and drawing the best human being I've ever drawn to-date.
Aside from making things, I also co-modded the new SPN Bang Bang with my friends @doctorprofessorsong and @you-cant-spell-subtext-without, which went wonderfully well; I"m excited for this year's round!
Last but not least, being an editor and guest for @endofthebookpod has been amazing so far, and I'm excited for the rest of The Winchesters season!

Since tumblr tags suck, I used this Tumblr OP finder to help me put this together.
So, Millie told Mary offscreen that John's anger issues stem from childhood, and Mary recognizes that she and hunting are excuses for him to act on that anger.
Well, there are a couple of dimensions to unpack here...part of which is going to bring in my psychology degree...
And then I also have some thoughts on angel interference in their relationship- bc I do think we're already seeing it happen on screen.
Nature vs Nurture and John's fate
So, one of the main things I learned when studying psychology was a disturbing fact that sounds wrong coming from an optimist like me, but it's true, and John is a shining example.
I chose to focus on twin studies whenever I had freedom to choose essay topics, because twins fascinate me. I found more than I bargained for. The nature vs nurture debate is the most contested, never settled, debate in psychology, and well - prior to ethics rules prohibiting such, there were some twin studies that really really seem to show that Nature wins out (the short reductive version is they separated twins from a broken home at birth and gave one a lesser/fucked up upbringing and gave the other a cushy upbringing, and they both turned out poorly). That is not to say that nurture has no effect, and it doesn't mean that people cannot change. But if it's in your blood, then it's a verrry verrry uphill battle to say the least.
This is part of why Millie saying John had an anger issue from the start doesn't surprise me. It also is reinforced by the fact that he is surrounded by people who are encouraging him otherwise, and he tries, but it just isn't enough at this point (and as we know, ultimately isn't enough in the end).
John volunteering for Vietnam is partially about being lost without his dad, sure yeah. But it's also a license to channel the violence.
In a way, after getting back from the war, the letter from Henry was basically the fucked-up Hogwarts letter John had been waiting for, wanting for. It lead him on a quest (giving purpose) and to hunting (means of channeling the violence).
2. The Draw of Mary
His need for purpose and connection to this life is a major draw. The letter allegedly from Henry brought him here, but what's keeping him here? He found out the truth. So....
Saving the world is one, but he said it in this scene - that's kind of an afterthought. He and Mary both recognize here that he's using her as an excuse to stay in this. But why?
Because he needs hunting as a license for violence. He can't get that outside of war - so he's found a war to fight in.
3. Angel interference
Have you noticed how everyone is needling them about getting with each other? You could argue Millie doing that is normal bc she's his mom.
But what about Tracy doing that with Mary?
Or Ada encouraging her?
I don't think any of them are possessed or anything like that, but that they themselves have been influenced.
The effect is more powerful if they can make it come from trusted sources rather trying to brute force it. So of course they would try that route first.
Just like the Akreida have manipulated them into feeding them power, the angels can manipulate them into feeding the relationship.
Sometimes, they walk a fine line between " do you wanna go?" and "do you wanna get out of here?"
Some of their best and worst moments have happened in back alleyways. Both in their relationship and in their lives.
And yet, through it all, they've stayed by each other's sides, no matter how crazy or astronomically absurd the threat - they have always been in it together.
"I need you."
"I could go with you."
"I love you."
Each of these was a vow, them united against the world, to their last breath. And not even death could do them part.
Hi everyone, although I've been in the SPN fandom for over 10 years now, I didn't start making fanworks until after I watched S15 this summer. Like many others here in the desticule, I was reactivated like a feral sleeper agent, and went into a creative frenzy to give our beloveds the happiness they deserved.
I am kind of beside myself with just how much I've done in the last 7 months. SPN motivated me to come back to many of the hobbies that I'd left by the wayside in the daily grind. I wrote and drew more this year than I have in the past few years combined. I am much happier and am making more self-improvement because of it.
Even more, I am grateful to have met all of you and made friends on here and on Discord. 💜

I am most proud of starting a post-canon fix-it series, and also of this line in a Drowley fic about Dean :
Maybe, just maybe, he could have some things for himself.

I got back into video editing for the first time in years and I started a YT channel for my AMVs.
The first Destiel AMV I made was unhinged: Unbirthday (Alice in Wonderland).

Art:
Thanks to Suptober, I drew more this year than the past couple of years combined. Art takes so much time, so an external motivator, and being sorta between jobs at that point in time resulted in 5 drawings that I am really proud of.
Despite external factors, for what it is, in terms of technique and managing to portray the image in my head, my Team Free Will Patronuses crossover art is the one that made me feel the most accomplished, with Tree-topper Cas as a close second.

Meta:
I didn't think I did a lot here, but if you include #spn meta in the tags , then I actually did. I only made one meta op, but my main theory/headcanon I'm going to expand on is what actually happened when Jack absorbed Chuck's powers. Some people say Chuck won and is possessing Jack - I don't think that is quite accurate.
