He should not be that attractive this is not fair what the fuck is this. Sarah was actually doing a very good job not staring at Kaiden, who was walking around the motel room in nothing but a towel. Whether he was doing this on purpose or not she didn’t know, but part of her was tempted to walk by and try to pull it away - just to see what he’d do. Of course, knowing him he wouldn’t be overly bothered, probably making some kind of sex reference. 

It was Kaiden after all. Fuckboy central. The fact that he’s attractive is actually not fair, she thought to herself. She’d get even for this somehow, even if he wasn’t doing it on purpose.

He was visibly confused as the brunette walked into the room. He had thought that Elena wasn’t going to be there. Yet, there she was standing in front of him at the masquerade. “I thought you weren’t coming?” He questioned, as his blue eyes took in her outfit. It seemed strange and out of character. But, then again, many things had since her parents had died. “I mean it’s good that you’re getting out of the house..”

     “I don’t like this idea. It leaves too much to chance and Margaret or Jeremy could get hurt.” Who’s grand idea had it been to go camping? Furthermore, to do it on a weekend of a full moon? It wasn’t exactly Elena or Katherine’s cup of tea, being in the woods. Leave it to them to end up stalked by a killer werewolf. So much for a ‘sibling bonding’ weekend. Damn them all for not being able to deny little Margaret.

     “You’re right. You have terrorized this town for the last few months, threatened me, even threatened Jeremy. But, I have to believe that’s not all there is to you. I saw the fear in your eyes when you saw Elijah. The sadness when you looked at the book, when we saw that picture of our mother. And, despite what I think you want me to believe, I don’t think you want to see me die at Klaus hands. Not after what he tried to do to you.” Elena began, her voice was confident in what she was saying but it held a gentleness it hadn’t toward her before. It was almost as if Elena’s decision had provided sudden clarity. 

     “But this is my choice, my choice alone and Stefan and Damon won’t find another way-- even if they think they can. You know that as well as I do. I’m going to give myself up and Klaus will kill me. But it will save Jeremy and Margaret. It’ll save, all these people that have fought for me and even when they hated you, you.” In many things Elena had been selfish but this time, this time she was going to put others before herself. “And-- it’ll give you your freedom, so you can stop running and maybe find some piece of yourself you lost along the way.”

     Elena’s gaze moves back and forth between the computer screen and Katherine, her mind still reeling from their discovery. How could they be related? Sisters no less? It was beyond unfathomable. Katherine was evil, cruel, and vindictive. And yet-- “... not just me. That means Jeremy and Margaret are your siblings too.” A pause. 

“However, I don’t imagine that would mean anything to you, would it? You’ve already threatened Jeremy’s life once. What a wonderful sister.” There’s sarcasm in her tone despite the fact that this was a fresh discovery and those events had transpired before it. Given  recent events Elena held little reason to trust Katherine and this sudden discovery wasn’t about to change things.
