Considering snapping turtles love the taste of fish, you may want to reconsider if you keep your own. I don’t agree with the guy shooting them, though.

Oh no worries, I know they can wreak havoc on a fish pond! But my little pond is just home to frogs, newts, turtles, occasionally a couple of big fat horses going for a dip, and now that cute little dude! I’ve also had a noisy green heron hanging around lately too but hopefully little baby snapper will stay out of his sight.

Niall is apparently doing an impression of a baroque horse.

I went back to my usual coloring techniques for this one, and it was about 15 times easier than my last few paintings were. XD  I do like the look of the other way-- it seems more ‘watercolory’ somehow? I’ve been told a couple of times that my watercolors don’t look like watercolors, whatever that means. Maybe I’ll try to combine the two methods.

(I may be overthinking this. I’m self-taught, and after watching a few videos recently, I noticed that I seem to lay down my paints ‘backwards’ from professional artists. So I thought I’d try to do things their way, and it’s surprisingly difficult. XD)

Also, that may be the best hair I have ever painted!

A nimbwe taschevah runs across a hawken. Krakenqueen is one of my biggest creature design inspirations, and I have been an enormous fan of her taschevah basically since I started drawing "for real". They're just so amazing. I think that I got the sizing hilariously off; Dances should be considerably smaller! Oh well, maybe he's closer to the camera than the tasch is. :)
