Saw you reblog that WIP ask thing and I now come to you begging requesting details on your Kantoph AU because I'm hooked on that shit now

Ope, hi Krast! I am HAPPY to provide some details about my Kantoph AU(s) I wanna write, because the fact that people like Kantoph now is music to my ears. Right now, the ideas are kind of a jumbled mess so I have to organize myself and figure out what I want to do and what's within my abilities. This ask is one answer referencing an Angsty AU, and This ask references some other ideas I have. Ima give you some more info tho lmao

Okay so for the angsty AU I have MANY a thoughts on turning up the fluffy dial right before the angst hits, but also... I'm wondering if I should focus on Kantoph's relationship and the buildup to that.

I guess the biggest thing I'm wondering is if I should make it about their relationship, or take a little glimpse into these situations and pile them all together.

And that's the main reason why I keep showing y'all what I've got, because this idea excites me, but I don't know what to do with all the ideas at the moment! But once I get a clearer picture of what I should do, it should hopefully be quick and smooth-sailing.

And if it's not fast enough to my liking, then I guess I'll have to make a Kantoph One Shots LOL.

Also there's that hurt/comfort AU?? I mean... way too many ideas right now. Way too many (I love it tho lol).

And before she could try to maintain her casual composure, before she could wrap her mind around what this new and sudden change meant, Toph smiled. Because he wanted her. He wanted this. All of it. And the realization that they mutually chose each other was the greatest feeling in the world.

“Yeah,” she managed to say through building emotions (hormones. She could blame those for everything now). “Yeah, we are.”

Uh... maybe 'No Reason You Can't Do It', purely because the reception it's received has absolutely blown me away. The encouraging feedback and positive comments have honestly been staggering, and I'm super grateful that people have, like... liked it? This super-indulgent 175k-word monster of a fanfic? What the slush??

But if I'm honest, it's probably 'the time is drawing near now'. It's just Sokka and Zuko talking, but... it's just Sokka and Zuko talking. Just two guys having friendship. Just two bros being bros. And okay, sure, they've got all these inside jokes and jibes and snark, but... they care, you know? And that's super important to me.

💡what inspires your fic ideas?

The fact that the line 'You rise with the moon, I rise with the sun' exists and Zutara somehow isn't canon??? RUDE

Joking aside, I needed something to do in lockdown! I watched the whole series with a friend in May... then wrote Elements 101... and then I watched the whole series with a friend in September... and then started writing White Lotus Zuko. It was something to do as a break from unsuccessfully applying for dozens of jobs on short-term contracts; a way to remind myself that I wasn't just the guy who got an automated reply email sent to Unsuccessful Candidate Number 12345.

🍄how do you get yourself in the mood to write?

Well, I kind of just blitzed Books 1 & 2 of the WLZ series - seriously, I wrote each of them in less than a month apiece - but for Book 3, when my motivation and output was slowing down, I tried to carefully map out what each chapter would consist of, write one character's perspective each evening after work, and then write a whole chapter and do some editing on my days off. So that worked out at about seven chapters a fortnight through sheer bloody-mindedness and the crushing fear of letting readers down (work ethic and guilt, Protestantism is a blessing and a curse).

Thanks for the questions, Krast! :) I remember you saying Sokka was one of your favourite characters - I hope you like where YPCC is taking his character development!

Ope, hey Krast! Hope your day is off to a great start! Happy to give some answers to these ~unusual asks~ :)

40. How many times have you been to the hospital?

Hmmm... Like 7? Most of it happened when I was a kid, and pretty minor stuff. The worst visits were probably when I was like 18 months old? I had like 2 seizures. I also got stitches (hah) on two separate occasions.

I was very anemic a few years back (had like 0 iron in my blood lmao), almost needed a blood transfusion, but the docs were like "eat some steak, you'll feel better" (I'm JOKING). But yeah, nothing too crazy.

52. What is your dream car?

Oooo you know, I never really thought about dream cars too much. I adore my MINI Cooper, and for a hot sec, it was my dream car (don't let your dreams be memes, kids).

I would love a super nice car for the heck of it, maybe a Porsche or Ferrari? I'm not too attached to any models because I haven't really looked at any. But, I've driven a Tesla or two and those are fun, but I've heard that technically those don't count as cars LMAO.

But, if I were to buy a nice car that I use a lot, it would probably be a Tesla.

56. Would you rather live in rural areas or in the suburbs?

Probably suburbs! I need to have things around me so that I can just go out and do something quickly if I want to.
