I love you characters who try so hard to avoid becoming one specific thing that they end up becoming something arguably worse. I love you characters with backwards development. I love you characters whose ideals dissolve over time. I love you characters who start out bright-eyed and end their stories with several important pieces missing.
Tim Drake. This is about Tim Drake. This post is directed at Tim Drake. I'm reblogging this and thinking about Tim Drake. The premise of this post reminds me of Tim Drake's character arc from the early 90s to late 00s.
But then I remembered this page from Red Robin #26.
Not only does Tim save the day, but he does it without compromising. He doesn't do it the easy way. He doesn't do it alone. Remember his most famous line from this comic?
I'm not Batman. I have friends.
He's still the same Tim. He's bruised, but he's not broken. He still believes. His eyes are a little less bright and he doesn't smile as much these days, but he's holding on. As long as Red Robin saves people, Red Robin will never be the Savior.
