Yeah, Greekratos inspired the fuck out of me lmao. There’s so much about his past w Deimos that we don’t get to see, but his desperation to save his brother in what little we DO see is such a crux to how he reacts not only to Atreus, but what I feel made the basis for all his most violent and bad decisions 🥹

He so desperately wanted to make his brother a soldier, as that was the only way to save him, then when he BECAME the soldier that might’ve been able to keep him safe, it was far too late and he had all that lingering resentment built up.

The way he avoided his family but still was scared enough about the invaders to trade his life to save everyone (like tyr mentions in the dlc) I feel is representative on how deeply that first loss affected him. So terrified of having the ones he loves taken from him that he threw himself into war after war, because at the time he was convinced it WAS war and pillaging that stole Deimos, so if he can just keep it at bay, BE in those front lines, the people back home wouldn’t be hurt.

Never mind that that meant ignoring his wife, missing years of their child’s life, essentially abandoning his mom. They were safe right?

This avoidance is basically what built up Icarus. Greekratos being so sick of his losses that he’d take the plunge to choose his own feelings and comfort, no matter how selfish and harmful, for once in his life: choosing NOT to fight, wanting to BE w Atreus, where Norse Kratos has kept himself in knots trying to keep it all at bay.

Basically he needed to be fucked over by himself to actually CONFRONT his issues lmao

And confront them he shall! Atreus deserves answers and he won’t be satisfied w Kratos pushing him away because uhhhh yeah no backsies, man, we’re either talking about this or we’re talking about this

I hope the confrontation holds up your expectations!!!

The idea of Kratos falling asleep in Atreus lap is so cute but also so funny cause you have a bear of a man over a skinny boy, like poor guy gonna end up dead by the lack of oxygen due the weight
