Once again a scene from @maplefudge awesome Fic “Everglow”

“This will do,” Eijirou announces, and he yanks a ring off Katsuki’s hand. It’s a silver, coiled ring. He plants it in the middle of his palm and stares at it for a second, thinking. Then, he blinks at Katsuki and asks, “Are you—is this a mating ring? Humans do that, right? They wear rings when they’re mated?”
Katsuki splutters, “Mating ring…? Do you mean a wedding ring, asshole? It’s not a wedding ring, you idiot—”
“Oh, okay… huh, such aggression,” Eijirou says. Then, he presses his palm, with the ring, against the teeth dangling around Katsuki’s neck.
“What the fuck…?” Katsuki’s eyes widen when the items in between them give off a faint glow, and Eijirou’s muttering words under his breath. Katsuki can’t understand them, they’re from a foreign language, but he registers how agitated the silver haired man behind Eijirou becomes.

Sharing Headphones
Bakugo needed silence. Peace and quiet to do homework. The deafening sound of pencils scratching freshly patted paper. The smell of ink from pens irritating his nose.
The smell and silence weren't there. It was painfully clogged by the scent of peaches and axe. The manly kind that you'd only buy to mask the smell of a long days training.
Kirishima bobbed his head beside the blond, humming a tune that he butchered with his less-than-great vocal cords. Bakugo wouldn't admit that he loved the sound.
The rough gravel of Kirishima's voice scratching at his spine, jolting him into an upright position, hyper aware of the knee digging into his thigh from his place on the floor.
The red head was oblivious to it all, jotting on the white paper, ignoring Bakugo unless he's had a question, ripping off a headphone to listen.
When the burn of his skin was too much, too hot to keep concentrated, he poked the offending knee, grunting.
Kirishima readjusted, scooting an inch away. Bakugo shook his thoughts clear and went back to work.
“How did you get number five?” Kirishima leaned into Bakugou's space, head practically resting on his shoulder.
When had Kirishima become so comfortable with laying all over the other? God, Bakugo needed to knock sense into him.
“Get off shitty hair.” He grumbled, shouldering the other until he moved. “I'll explain it.” Despite having the other just scoot away, Bakugo leaned over him, elbow resting on Kirishima's knee as he explained. The while, music drifted in the air.
Kirishima had good taste. Bakugo at least liked his music. Rock, Kirishima listened to a lot of rock.
He'd missed the red heads smile when his head bobbed along to the song, tapping on his paper to the rhythm.
Bakugo shouldn't have spent so long explaining, but Kirishima seemed to have an ocean of questions. Be it stupid and unnecessary, Bakugo answered them all. He was sure the other was just trying to keep him there, close.
“What are you listening to?” Bakugo finally cracked, taking the headphone that was shoved behind Kirishima's ear, leaning his face close to hear the song. He tries to ignore his own heart beat.
Why had he thought this was a good idea in the first place? Right, he wasn't thinking. He'd just heard the music and jumped at the idea to be closer to Kirishima.
“It's a love song. Not really your speed, but it's rock so maybe?” Bakugo put up a hand for him to shut up.
“I know the song, dumb ass.”
“Well you asked.” Kirishima laughed, leaning back on his hands, homework forgotten. “Here, just sit closer to me.”
Bakugo scrunched his nose, but shifted closer nonetheless. His face was nearly touching Kirishima's, sending heat vibrating through him. “Whatever.” He huffed as a reply, just to have the last word.
They sat like that for a while, music blaring out of headphones that couldn't extend to be shared between two. Comfortable in the silence Bakugo didn't know could possibly overwhelm him so much, even with the sound coming from the device.
Two friends, faces hot, intentionally trying to avoid contact with anything but their inflamed shoulders. Sweaty hands trying to rest upon the floor or shaking, nervous thighs. Neither spoke as the song changed, once… Twice.
Kirishima shifted, hand brushing Bakugo's accidentally. When the other didn't flinch away Kirishima let it rest there, fingers tangled on the hard floor of the dorm rooms of 1A.
Bakugo wouldn't pull away. He'd let the silence plea for more. For small touches that are pushed for in the confines of a walled room. In a mutual comfort that begs for attention.
He'd drown, letting his head be anywhere but here as fingers wrestle for contact. He'd suffocate in the way Kirishima inched closer, acting as if Bakugo wasn't realizing his lank fingers ticking away from his hand to run up his arm. He'd revel in the way Kirishima looked at him as he let fingers subtly brush sensitive skin. Eyes soft, as if this was all he needed after a long school day.
These moments that never left the room, never escalated into anything other than longing scrapes of fingers over lips, or eyes searching for something more.
Bakugo couldn't remember any other time where the silence was so deafening. The music was lost, soundless noise in these moments. Sharing the head set was a moot point. Just an excuse to be close, to feel heat and comfort from an outside source.
It was the nights like this Bakugo feared, yearned and pushed for the most. Kirishima would chalk it up to being “best bros”, because what else would you call it?
They both knew better. Bakugo knew better. Kirishima wouldn't do this with Alien queen, or pikachu, would he? No, He knew these moments, the ones hidden away in his room, music on blast just as an excuse to touch needy hands, was exclusively for him.
It always wound up the same. Closed eyes, tired from the shared silence. Tired from long day of breathlessly hard work forced upon them by an unforgiving teacher.
Closed eyes that let hands wander under shirts, just to feel the shaking skin quiver beneath cold fingers.
Music was the key in this game for Bakugo. Kirishima seemed to have it all planned from the moment he walks in.
Bakugo knows, if he pulls out his phone. If Kirishima decided to put on music, he's asking for something more. Some sort of warped comfort agreed upon by two reckless first years.
Kirishima moaned at the contact of lips against his jaw. The sound was soft, pushed through a mouth that barely hung open. Open in shock, or in delight, either way, Bakugo was radiating the encouragement.
Their games never went so far. Never made it out of burning touches. “Clueless.” Kirishima hummed, the vibration of his lips merely a centimeter from Bakugo's own.
He let out a deep, scorching breath, the world coming back as his eyes fluttered open to meet the pleading, helpless reds of Kirishima's eyes.
They were like the sunset, crimson and lovely, specks of gold ringing the pupil. The ring around it a darker, more intense red, like his own.
He could ignore the safe word, close the space between them. God he wanted to. His best friend was so tempting. How could you hold a piece of candy out to a child and not let them have it.
The music came at him full force. Pushing him away to sit against the bed. Kirishima joined him, back pressing into the bed frame uncomfortably as he slouched.
They sat in silence. Loud and full of notes neither bothered to process. Bakugo almost wanted to explode the source.
Kirishima had turned the music off a little later, apparently sharing in Bakugo's thoughts.
Music was the key. Bakugo didn't know what Kirishima was working at, but music was the key.
