Monochrome Mornings: The Lone Fisherman of Stipanja Bay
There is a profound, almost sacred silence on the Adriatic before the summer heat claims the day. This morning at Stipanja Bay in Šilo, the sea turned into a perfect, glassy mirror, setting the stage for a truly timeless coastal scene.
In the foreground, a local fisherman goes about his daily routine, scanning the calm waters in search of fish. Behind him, the composition opens up into beautiful layers of landscape—revealing the silhouette of the Krk Bridge stretching across the water to connect our island with the mainland.
Choosing a black and white edit for this shot was essential. By removing the colors, the focus shifts entirely to the textures of the water, the shapes of the distant mountains, and that undeniable feeling of morning solitude. It’s a quiet tribute to the traditional island way of life that still thrives alongside the modern world.
