Kröller-Müller Museum and Sculpture Gardens We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Otterlo, Netherlands with our daughter and son-in-law to visit the Kröller-Müller Museum and Sculpture Gardens on October 8, 2022. It was a beautiful day, and the museum’s exhibits, especially it’s amazing collection of Van Gogh paintings, and the lovely grounds and gardens were a highlight of our trip. Watched “Van Gogh tra il grano e il cielo” (“Van Gogh between the wheat and the sky”), a Italian documentary created at the occasion of a major van Gogh exhibition in Vicenza. (Not to worry: the audio is fully available in English!) The show was actually based on the unique van Gogh collection of the Kröller-Müller Museum (@krollermullermuseum) (Otterlo), established in the Dutch national park De Hoge Veluwe (@hogeveluwe) - they own 88 paintings and 180 of his drawings! The documentary does not pretend to paint a complete picture of the redhead artist minus ear but gives plenty of insight. The info on Helene Kröller-Müller, the wife of a Dutch entrepreneur and first collector of van Gogh who handed it all over to the Dutch state at the end of her life, you won’t find elsewhere.
