krusca replied to your post: Hey! I read that Tony is a corrupt person because...
also everyone keeps forgetting that Tony tried to stop the illuminati from mindwiping Steve during hickmans incursions run, but they said if Tony doesn’t ok it they’re gonna mindwipe Tony too
Is this actually canon? I’ve seen it in fic (I mean, I’m sure I’ve used it in fic) but other than the fact that it makes sense I am not sure there’s canon evidence? Do you have a panel of this?

for the number+drabble- stevetony #169 (because 69 heh)
@krusca no. No.
169. “I won’t let you die for me.”
“Let me up. Let me up!” Tony strained against the hands holding him down, resisting the urge to just power up the repulsors and blast his way free. They were his team, they were trying to help- “Get the fuck off me!”
“Let the EMTs work.” Jan’s voice was tight and strained. “Tony, no one’s going to let you near him unless you calm down.”
Thor’s voice was a soft rumble, like thunder from a storm far away. “She speaks the truth, Anthony. There is no enemy here and panic will not serve the Captain.”
Tony closed his eyes and made himself breathe. “Just someone tell me he’s alive.”
“As if he’d be so easy to best.” Thor sounded more amused than anything by the idea, but Tony had seen the spikes cut through Steve’s scalemail, had seen one go clean through his thigh and the thick spill of dark blood that followed.
He’d seen Steve stagger as they struck his back, dangerously close to his spine. He’d seen the pain on Steve’s face before he fell.
He’d seen it all because Steve had jumped between him and the attack.
Some of the pressure in his chest eased at Thor’s casual assurance and Tony dragged in a breath so deep it almost hurt. “Let me see him.”
Thor removed the hand that he was using to pin Tony down and offered it to him instead as a hand up. Tony took it, partially to assure Thor there were no hard feelings and partially because the adrenaline rush and the sour rush of fear had combined to leave him light-headed and dizzy. He could feel himself shaking inside the armor and made himself take a deep breath before he spoke so the others wouldn’t notice. “How bad is it?”
“It’d be less serious if he’d sit still and let the EMTs do their work,” Jan said in a voice pitched to carry.
Tony staggered past her, Thor still gripping his elbow, and zeroed in on Steve. He was sitting up, propped against Sam’s shoulder and looking pale but relatively whole. Tony scanned him with the armor, noted that his heart rate was a little high, his blood pressure was a little low, and his body temperature was slightly elevated. But everything was within survivable limits and Tony released the face plate so he could see Steve was all right with his own eyes.
Steve was looking straight at him, mouth pinched into a frown and eyes narrowed. His forehead was furrowed in pain, but when Tony met his eyes, his let out a heavy breath and relaxed, sagging slightly against Sam.
“Idiot,” Tony said, and that wasn’t exactly what he’d planned to say. “I’m the one wearing fucking armor what the hell were you thinking?”
Sam made a face at him but didn’t say anything as he stalked over, the armor opening up so he could step out at Steve’s side and drop to his knees.
The paramedic treating Steve gave the armor a sideways glance but didn’t stop working on his leg.
“He has a point, man,” Sam said.
Steve shrugged carefully, and barely held back a wince. “It was instinct. I saw those spikes coming at you and I just... reacted.”
Tony stared at him for a long moment. He was pale, but the color was already coming back into his cheeks, and the smaller wounds and grazes were already starting to heal. He reached out and covered Steve’s hand with his own, gripping just tight enough that Steve would have to pull to get away from him.
Steve gripped his hand back. “I don’t have it in me to see you in danger and not try to protect you.”
“React smarter next time,” Tony said. He watched the paramedic closely. “Is he all right?”
“He’ll be fine with a little rest,” she said. “But there’s muscle damage and even with his healing factor, he needs to take it easy until this is completely healed.” She stared intently at Steve as she said the last two words and Tony suspected she’d treated them before. “He should be in a hospital.”
“No, thank you,” Steve said.
Sam rolled his eyes toward the sky. “Because getting spikes shoved through your spine is something you can walk off.”
“Exactly,” Steve said. He flashed Sam a shit-eating grin and squeezed Tony’s hand. “I’ll take it easy for a day or two.”
“I’m getting a specialist to see you,” Tony said. He could feel his heart starting to slow back to normal, but there was still a tight band around his chest making, him work for every breath. “Either we do it at the hospital or I’ll bring one to the Tower. You’re not fighting me on this.”
The paramedic finished bandaging Steve’s leg and started packing up. “That’s a really good idea. Don’t fight him.” She gave Steve a quick list of instructions. “Are you sure you don’t want to go to the hospital?”
Tony couldn’t stop himself from gripping Steve’s hand tighter.
Steve squeezed Tony’s hand and sighed. “All right, I know when I’m out numbered. Someone help me up.”
The paramedic glared at him. “I will get a stretcher. Someone sit on him until I get back with some help.”
“That sounds like your job,” Sam said.
Tony shook his head. “Maybe once he’s showered.” He used his free hand to brush Steve’s hair off his forehead, wiping away some of the sweat that had beaded up on his forehead. “I’m going with you in the ambulance though. And you’re going to do what the doctors say or I’ll use it against you every time you try to make me follow doctor’s orders for the rest of our lives.”
Steve grinned. “I don’t doubt it. Tony, I’m fine.” He turned his head into Tony’s touch. “It takes more than some spikes to slow me down for long.”
“If only you’d been wearing a suit of armor,” Tony said pointedly. “You might have even walked away completely unharmed.”
“Couldn’t risk it,” Steve said. “I’m sorry I scared you, though.”
Tony remembered the way Steve’s body had jerked with the first impact, the gasp of pain as the second one sent him to his knees. “I won’t let you die for me,” he said quietly. “Not - not like that, Steve. You can’t do that to me.”
Steve sighed and leaned in to press his forehead against Tony’s. “I can’t promise I won’t try to protect you.”
Tony combed his free hand through Steve’s hair and watched the paramedic hurrying back with a stretcher and two more medics for backup. Sam carefully eased out from behind Steve and Thor stepped in to help get Steve to his feet. “Just leave the sharp stuff to me from now on.”
krusca replied to your post “spoilers and thirst under the cut[[MOR] omg what’s yr opinion on it?...”
Wait is the arc reactor embedded in his chest tho? He mentioned it was detatchable so i assumed it was just like.. clinging to his skin?
this user watched it once (1ce) so i definitely probably missed that, i thought he mentioned surgery so my statement about being extra still stands
