I know you've shared some of your Alex headcannons before, but if you ever feel like sharing more, I would love to see them.

it's been a while but i finally have some more headcanons for you<3

warnings: mentions of feeling sick, reference to ethan's death (my gif)

she was on the track team at school and was pretty good. she even got second place in a couple of competitions.

her family was BIG on sports. they love hockey and american football. her dad took her to games as a kid and she loved it. for a while, after danny had moved out and before scott had developed an interest in sports it would be a thing just her and her dad did together.

even before the drowning incident, she didn’t enjoy the water. she can swim but she would really rather not. she also gets seasick so you will not catch her on a boat (and if you do she will be firmly planted on a seat with a life jacket on thank you very much).

will not admit it but she loves getting flowers. gardenias, peonies, and carnations are her favourites.

inactive on social media - she has facebook & twitter and that’s it but she doesn’t use either very much.

she has music playing in the house constantly. even while reading she’ll put on background music.

her first time lecturing she was terrified and spent the whole time thinking she was going to vom, but she quickly fell into the swing of it and now she can't imagine not doing it.

she’s kind of a harsh marker but will more than happily answer any questions if students are struggling with the syllabus. she’ll talk through an essay with them and tell them where they went wrong and how to improve.

she loves travelling. she hasn’t done it nearly as much as she’d like but she adores italy and dreams of retiring there.

once in college she tried to bleach her hair and it literally started falling out in clumps and she ended up sitting in the middle of her dorm room crying on the phone to her mom about how she’d ruined everything (it was totally about more than just ruining her hair). she’d ended up having to sport a pixie cut for a while…it wasn’t the best look.

she has a small elephant tattoo on her ribs. she got it about a year after ethan died. it had been his favourite teddy. she’d decorated his hospital room with pictures and figurines of them and even after he'd completely lost the ability to speak, his eyes had continue to light up when he saw them.

To establish dominance, Aranea will make sure any time she takes a drink from a cup, her lipstick lines up precisely with the inital print. Even if its 4 am and she’s sleep deprived and/or completely wasted, she can and will do it.

It takes most people to catch on because its so subtle, but now Noct and Prompto place bets on if and when she'll miss it- even by a millimeter. Gladio breaks into a sweat and Ignis usually clears his throat and looks away. Iris begs her to show her how and Luna just giggles.

when emily becomes unit chief she obviously starts staying at the office late more often than not, and while she’s used to that from being at interpol and at the bau before, she hates being all alone in her office night after night. reid notices this, of course, and one evening he grabs his books and moves to sits on her office couch. the two of them work in silence, but emily has a small smile on her face the majority of the time, and now whenever reid does join her they’re easily her favourite evenings.

Headcanon A:  realistic

her favourite thing about her office at the bau is the fact the others can no longer access her snack draw so she can finally start bringing her favourite expensive dark chocolate to work again without risk of reid stealing it.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

after years of nagging she finally lets rossi give her a cooking lesson. it takes 1 hour for rossi to start crying, staring at his burnt pan and ruined worktops. emily just stands to the side with a glass of wine and says "this is why you don't shout at me about fucking spaghetti." he never lets her cook again.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

emily was used to loneliness. it was a feeling she'd experienced a lot in her life, but nothing would ever compare to the heart-retching pain she would feel in paris, clutching a photo of the team and sobbing until she passed out.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

had a competition with derek about who could get more women's numbers in one night. (she won by a landslide and will never let him live it down).

Sorry this took so long, I ended up just doing JJ otherwise this would have taken me even longer. I’m sorry!

Headcanon A: realistic

JJ has a favourite pen that she fills out all her paperwork with. She used to bring it on cases with her too, but there was one too many occasions when one of the cops went to borrow it, and JJ had to refrain from snatching it away from them, so she's learnt to keep it at the office. And the others know not to touch it.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

The Cheeto obsession reaches a point where Penelope stages an intervention. Spencer talks about how they endanger her health, Penelope says an obsession like this is unhealthy, and Derek goes on about how they’re gross and couldn’t she just pick a better snack to be obsessed with. Emily just sits to the side and laughs. It ends when JJ goes on a rant about how they all have unhealthy obsessions too, only she doesn’t judge them, and storms out of the rooms (and immediately goes and inhales a bag of Cheetos). 

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

There’s a period, when Henry is only four, where they get about four cases in a row all to do with children. JJ can’t sleep for weeks, as every night is filled with nightmares of her son being gone. She ends up moving into his room for a while, sleeping in a bed beside him so if anyone tried to take him, she’d be right there. Will tries to understand, installs a security system in an attempt to get her back in her own bed but it doesn't work. It's not until Hotch notices how warn down she is, and speaks to her, understanding in a way Will can’t, that she manages to move back to her own bed. But even now she wakes up in the middle of the night to check on her children, just to make sure.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

She was in a short relationship with Elle, but it ends after Elle is shot. The other woman won’t let JJ near her and she’s crushed. She tries to get Elle to open up and let her take care of her but Elle just slams the door in her face because she refuses to let JJ see her in so much pain. Years later, they still think about each other and wonder about what could have been.

Headcanon A:  realistic

even after alex leaves the bau spencer and her continue to send each other their timings of crossword puzzles. they also start a book club of sorts, sending each other recommendations and when they have the time, having phone calls where they analyse the books.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

she hates maths. for the life of her cannot stand it. like flat out refuses to do even basic sums without a calculator because it’s dumb and she does not want to waste brain power on it. if a situation ever came up on a case where they needed to use maths she’d just stare at someone until they did the maths for her.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

her father has a stroke and dies a few years after she leaves the bau. she goes home for the funeral and her and scott end up having a massive argument because she doesn’t want to pack up and sell the house. their relationship turns sour and without her father to encourage her to improve it they stop talking. it’s take him getting shot for her to realise she can’t afford to lose the only family member she has left so they start to rebuild. she stills struggles to return to kansas city though as it just reminds her of death.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

her marriage to james doesn’t last for long after her move to Boston. living together makes them realise they love each other but they aren’t in love anymore. alex doesn’t know how to cope when she realises she’s crushing on the new female psychology lecturer. she’s never acknowledged her feelings for women before and her and james have more than one conversation dissecting it as he encourages her to ask the psych professor on a date.

Alex x Reader Headcanons

she surprises you with little gifts. whether that be flowers, a little trinket that made her think of you, food, anything. 

even though she’s secure in your relationship and trusts you she sometimes gets a little jealous so if she catches someone trying to flirt with you she’ll be over to your side in a flash, pulling your body into hers and looking at the person with faux kindness and asking “who’s this?”. it’s one of the only things that will make her break her rule about pda. 

super touchy at home, loves holding you in her arms. comes up behind you, rests her head on your shoulder and will try to distract you from whatever you’re doing.

strokes your hair. kisses your knuckles.

takes her awhile to introduce you to her family because she’s kind of scared they’ll scare you off. obviously, that doesn’t happen, they absolutely love you and you them. you end up getting her dad to tell you all the embarrassing stories about her. she spends the whole time grumbling and is lowkey convinced that you have just taken the role of the favourite child (scott finds it hilarious).

if you’ve had a long day she’ll draw you a bath/get the shower ready and will take her time softly washing your hair. making sure you feel relaxed and cared for. 

museum, theatre, and coffee dates. 

romantic dinners at home, candlelight and homemade meals. usually reserved for special occasions or when works been busy and you’ve hardly spent time together. 

communication! (duh, she’s a linguist) so any arguments she wants to resolve quickly - won’t ever go to bed angry. 

the job comes first so she’ll miss anniversary’s, birthdays, holidays, etc sometimes but she’ll always make up for the next time she sees you. 

she thinks valentine’s day is a scam and will complain about it however she will also always make you dinner, maybe take you out somewhere, and also buy you a gift (not flowers or chocolate this time because they always jack up the prices and she’s not about to get ripped off but instead something you’ve wanted and will truly appreciate).

basically she’s just really into making sure you know she loves you.

after ros died jj started having frequent panic attacks and anxiety. it got bad enough for a while that she couldn’t leave the house. as she grows up (and with the help from medication & therapy) she learns how to talk herself down before the panic attack can take over.

so by the time she joins the bau, her panic attacks are few and far between but some days her triggers hit, and the press is worst than normal, pushing and demanding, loud voices with no end and it’s all just too much. the team can spot the signs and hotch will take over the press conference while morgan guides her to a dark private room and emily meets them in there, sitting with jj, guiding her through it and helping her to ground herself.
