Oooooh thank you for sending this to me! It’s hard to pick one, as a writer who thrives on positivity and affirmation (like, I’m a glutton) I wish all of mine would get more attention, ha ha ha.
I would say Across Time and Space is one in particular, though. For those who haven’t read it, it’s a time travel fic that’s mainly set during haikyuu’s canon time period with a few tweaks with some jumps forward in time when the whole world is ransacked by multiple wars and tragedy (as well as some flashbacks). It’s almost a terminator au, in that Kuroo is sent to the past to protect Daichi from an assassin, but everyone is human so no androids or robots.
I have a lot of pride in this fic. It was ambitious (for me) and the plot and different scenes rolled around in my head for at least a couple weeks, perhaps longer, before I actually sat down and started it. Overall I’d say it features some of my best writing, characterization, and plot than any of my other fics. It has adventure, mystery, romance, tension, and some fun mixing with canon.
Of course for a personal connection (and also one I wish ppl still read) is Kuroo Tetsurou and his Merry Band of Cats. I mention it all the time, but I think it’s b/c it was the first really large multichapter fic that I had completed. It’s not perfect, and I’m still going back through to fix some of my earlier mistakes, but there’s something about that fic that I come back to over and over when I need a pick-me-up. I love Robin Hood tales, and I adore the (sort of) established relationship between Kuroo and Daichi. Unlike Across Time and Space, I had no clue for a lot of it how I was going to end it, but half-way the whole thing really flowed and it’s like the story was writing itself. I love how it developed and it’ll always be my fav fic of min I think, it’s very difficult to describe exactly why.
Oof that was probably way more than what you wanted, ha ha, oops. Thanks again for sending this! I never get tired of talking about my fav fics ;P
