a starter for @jaerden -- taeyeon && lucas
taeyeon likes seeing the company succeed; it’s probably this desire that makes her so good at this job. she knows she can’t do it alone, though, so she takes a lot of pride in the fact that she helps others grow to serve the needs of the company just as much as she does. a lot of the people in the company today were nurtured under her expert care; even one of mr. wong’s personal assistants had been an intern under her guidance earlier on.
teaching mr. wong’s son, though, is a little different. for starters, he’s not just any trainee or new employee; he’s bound to take over this business someday, which means that while he might be slightly clueless now, he could very well be her actual boss in a few years’ times. another notable difference is that he’s also not very assertive; compared to the company’s owner, yukhei is a less domineering presence and prefers sidling up to her instead of demanding her for help. lastly, this new addition to the team is unbeatably good-looking, and taeyeon has actually noticed.
taeyeon has had her fair share of work-based admirers, but they’re probably too direct for her taste; they like to ask her out to places she can’t stand and talk about their achievements in an attempt to both impress her and out-achieve her, which is possibly the most irritating and paradoxical kind of conversation ever. there’s no fun in being chased when you have no interest, and there’s also no fun in not chasing at all.
luckily, yukhei is neither aggressive nor adamant; the only thing about him is that he’s obvious. his constant, sheepish (but adorable) questions used to suggest a mild interest in her, but more recent and frequent glances in her direction and a fair amount of audible gulps whenever she leans forward to point something out to him is wholly indicative of his attraction.
she thinks it must be a little wrong that she also finds her boss’ son cute, especially considering she’s a handful of years older than him, but he’s taller than her anyway and she thinks younger men are a lot more fun to be around. she likes that he’s not that forward, and she likes that he turns a nice shade of pink when she licks her lips under the guise that they’re dry. in fact, the way she’s trying to tease him out of his docility is probably criminal in terms of workplace code, but she really can’t help it if he’s this attractive, right? technically, it’s only natural.
right now, they’re in the conference room, the blinds down to keep the afternoon sun from washing into the space. the office noise from outside is muffled by the closed door, and she folds her hands over the surface of the meeting table, her eyes fixed on his face.
“yukhei-ssi, you’ve been here a couple of weeks. i wanted to know about your progress. is there anything else you’re still struggling with? anything you need help with?” the questions sound innocent, professional enough, don’t they? “you can tell me if there’s anything you’re not sure about. you know i’m always here, for anything you need.”
