cheerleader x football player x marching band member works so well for kublam and the best part is that kurt, blaine, and sam could easily be any of them

Sam : Four months!
Kurt : What’s he talking about?
Blaine : It’s not that big of a deal-
Sam : That’s how long you stood by and watched me water a FAKE PLANT!
my fav glee characters + best dynamics
An excerpt from a Kublam (Kurt/Blaine/Sam) concept where Blaine started dating Sam in s6 and Sam accidentally gets trapped in Sue’s weird robot-menace elevator along with Kurt and Blaine. Sam/Kurt focused. Rated T for swearing and detailed kissing.
"Look," Sam says. "It's just a kiss, right?"
"Sam." Blaine's voice cracks as he looks at Sam, only at Sam, and Kurt's heart cracks with it, old fault lines quaking, sending dull shockwaves out through his bones…
"I want to get out of here, okay?" Sam is saying. "That robot thing freaks me out."
No, no, no, no–
Blaine turns his head to look at Kurt, and Kurt knows Blaine too well not to see it all on his face -- the want, the guilt for wanting Kurt, how desperate he is for this thing with Sam to last, and Kurt can’t deal with this right now, he can’t, not when he’s trying so hard to move on, to be the bigger person--
"What if… what if I kissed Kurt first?" Sam says.
… What?
Blaine double-takes at Sam. "Huh?"
"I don't know, to… break the tension, distract you guys from your whole--" Sam gestures with his arms “--complicated history.” He turns to Blaine. "Make you feel less like you're cheating on me."
Blaine blinks rapidly, visibly recalibrating. Then:
"O-okay," he says. He sounds a bit surprised by his own reply. “Yeah, I'm… I'm okay with that."
Sam turns to Kurt.
“So? What do you think?”
Kurt’s heart is pounding in his ears. This is an entirely different beast, one he hadn’t prepared for except in the wildest crevices of fantasy, where there’s never a reason to say--
“NO,” the robot screeches, and Kurt’s resolve hardens. Fuck Sue, and her creepy, weird Klaine agenda. He refuses to give her the satisfaction of this fever dream nightmare going to plan. He’s changing the script.
“Yes,” Kurt says, rising to his feet. “I think that’s a great plan.”
“NO!” the robot screeches again, as Sam stands up, too. “STOP. IGNORE THE THIRD WHEEL.”
Kurt maliciously tunes the robot out and steps closer to Sam.
Sam smiles. He's so close. His lips look so soft.
"Hey," Sam says.
Kurt's heart skips a beat, and he realizes he's already tilting forward.
Without saying anything, Sam reaches up and tucks a hand over Kurt's cheek.
Oh fuck, his hands are so warm.
"You sure you're okay with this?"
Kurt nods, feeling a little dizzy.
“It’s a practical decision,” he says breathlessly.
Sam Evans leans in, and suddenly Kurt is seventeen again, standing in front of a beautiful boy in the locker room showers, and he has two options, stay or walk away, except he knows now what he didn't know then, which is that if he walks away, he'll regret it, because it's been five years, five years and an engagement to a another man Kurt knows he'll love for the rest of his life, and yet he has never, ever stopped wondering what could have been if he'd said nothing, if they'd sung that duet, if his gaydar had been a little less off (but it wasn't, was it, and Sam is leaning in, and he's about to–!)
Oh god, Sam's lips are soft.
The robot starts screaming again, and Kurt tells himself it’s to spite her that he wraps his arms around Sam’s neck and pulls him closer. Sam chuckles against Kurt’s lips, low and warm, and tilts his head to deepen the kiss, fingers drifting to the back of Kurt’s neck to support his head. Kurt needs the support; a moment later, he has Sam’s tongue inside his mouth, and the only thing he can do to keep from tipping backwards is cling on and kiss back just as hard. Sam tastes like sunshine, and he kisses like Kurt is the only thing that matters in the world, and Kurt’s whole body is tingling in a way it's only ever done with one person before--
--and this is stupid, this is all wrong, he shouldn’t feel like this, he can’t have Sam, because Sam is with Blaine, and he can’t have Blaine because--
A quiet, strangled moan cuts through the small space, and Kurt jolts backwards, breaking the kiss. He knows that sound. He knows it really well.
For a long moment, Sam stares at Kurt, eyes dark, lips pink and kiss-swollen, and a hunger rears its head in Kurt that feels like it's here to stay. Then they both turn to look at Blaine, who is breathing heavily, staring at Kurt and Sam, leaning against the wall like he staggered into it.
“... Okay,” Blaine says abruptly, like he just lost an argument inside his head.
Hey kublammies - next part of the love fest is here.
