While it is known one of the Shogun's many wives, Lady Kuzunoha, bore him a daughter, no one can speak to where young Kasuga has gone. It has become a popular sentiment amongst the clans that he who brings the princess home is fated to become the next Shogun.

It should be noted that Princess Kasuga's disappearance coincides with the appearance of Kugane's newest menace—Mino Kitsune. Some theorize her banditry is tribute to the wrathful Kinko Kugane. Mino is often blamed for merchant misfortunes and the recent assassination of a foreign nobleman.
