Hello! Someone asked for more recs so I’m back! Well known ones/ones that you see talked about a lot, will not be listed here (Ex: In Another Life, to be first, to be best, and The Galaxy is endless (I thought we were, too)) Also one thing you will quickly learn about me is that I like 2nd Gen Captains, adoption aus, and the Miya twins. Five fics just like last time! :)

Black sweater blues by fish_wifey | KuguShiba (Kuguri X Shibayama), 1,000+ words | A very cute KuguShiba fic with a tinny bit of angst, overall a very cute story! This ship is hard to find things for so if you like it or are interested in learning about it you should give this a read!

Frozen Heart by runningfromrealitytoanime | SakuAtsu, OsaSuna, 30,000+ words, 15 chapters | A cool Frozen au with the Miya Twins! Very cute and the interactions are adorable! Kinda like the movie but they add a lot of their own stuff and I like that about it!

A Love for the Snow by maebelles | AranKita, 800+ words | A cute although short book about the Miya twins and snow! Also a adoption au with AranKita.

Making a Home by Featherfur | AranKita, 100,000+ words, 27 chapters | Adorable AranKita adoption au where Kita gets a surprise call for the twins 1 month before his fostering license expires. He has to make the choice if he wants to keep the kids or find a new home for them, along with the fact of (I wanna say reuniting) with Aran. Very fluffy with a slight bit of angst. It also has OsaSuna and Watari X Atsumu if that’s not your thing. (My favorite out of the list)

Worthy of being loved by Rhemyra | BokuAkaKuroKen, 5,000+ words | I personally don’t like soulmate aus all that much but this one is definitely one of, if not the best, I have read! It’s about the fact that Kenma has always been worried about being a disappointment to his soulmate that, after finding out he has a polybond, he decides not to communicate with them. Very cute, if a little angsty, 10/10.

I have a lot more fics but these are my most favorite Haikyuu ones out of the 51 I have saved! I might do one for DSMP and MHA (might only rant about one for MHA) but that’s all I have for now! Have a good day/afternoon/night!

Do you know why people ship Shibayama and Kuguri? I know fandom sometimes just picks two characters out of a hat to ship but it's there a specific reason for them?

i have no idea! i’ve never heard of this ship before in my life, so i’m not a good authority on it. my guess is that it’s because of any combination of the following:

first years

rivals because of their schools (and have captains that butt heads)

pretty

very different personality-wise but can foil or complement each other if you try hard enough (e.g. their play styles, reasons why they had a hard time clicking with the game, their perceived disconnect and their relationships with their teammates)

or it could be a case of Pair The Spares, which i also wouldn’t be surprised by.
