Sakaeguchi Yuuto's "nervous diarrhea" was a team joke--until it wasn't funny anymore. Suyama Shouji just wanted to help his friend, but he might have bitten off more than he could chew. And the quiet, reserved shortstop's feelings are finally starting to show, amidst growing worry and days of matching bentos.

“I’ve liked you for awhile now.” Suyama can’t believe he’s saying these words after three whole years of being with Yuuto, but here he is whispering the words to his best friend.

“I know this is selfish of me,” he continues when Yuuto doesn’t respond. Suyama stares and Yuuto’s back. He wonders if he’s being ignored. They’d just been talking. Maybe he should stop while he’s ahead. Or not. “We’re best friends. Have been since our first year, but I just... can’t stop thinking about what we could be, you know?”

He waits for a response, but Yuuto remains silent. “You’re always on my mind these days. We just click on and off the field. I find myself wanting to be even closer to you.”

“Yuuto, I think...” He pauses. “I think I love you.” The silence that follows is unbearable. “Please say something.” He reaches out towards Yuuto, but a loud snore echoes through the air as he touches the other’s shoulders. You’ve got to be kidding me.

The next morning, Yuuto grins at him - all sunshine and rainbows. “Man I slept great,” he laughs. Suyama chuckles awkwardly with dark bags under his eyes. He questions everything he knows about his life. Part of him remembers that he’ll have to redo the whole confession thing and he kind of wants the floor to swallow him where he lays.

OMG YES i was so excited to answer this ask,, i have so many but i tried to keep this short cause it would’ve ended up becoming like an entire fic just in bullet points,,,,,.,feel free to send me more asks about them!!

• first off: mihashi calls abe “taka” that’s just what it is

• when they’re cuddling or just laying down together it’s always with abe on his back and mihashi’s head on his chest, right over his heart—he likes the reassurance that abe is right there and that he isn’t going anywhere

• abe confessed first, and though he would rather die than admit it he had to ask for advice before he did it

• it was from shugou

• as a thank you, abe pointedly ignored and restrained himself from mentioning the pining look on the pitcher’s face whenever mihoshi’s tall first baseman is mentioned

• mihashi likes to wear abe’s sweatshirts and jackets because he finds abe’s scent and the fact that the clothes are larger on him comforting

• it’s frequently abe’s baseball jacket, and izumi and tajima tease abe about it every chance they get, which always results in abe screaming at them and sakaeguchi having to give hanai some advil

• after the first time they kissed mihashi let out this breathless and happy little chirping sound and abe almost fucking died

• coach momo honestly finds the couples on the team so cute (i ship sakaeguchi and suyama hard af ok) but she always laughs whenever she sees any kind of PDA from abe and mihashi cause she always thinks back to how they first met and how different they were with each other

• abe calls mihashi baby and/or sweetheart i don’t make the rules
