I’m pretty sure that I haven’t written that much for Kuroshitsuji in a while and I reblogged a lot of great posts too, so here is an organized list of theories about what’s going on with the current arc in my opinion.

Please keep in mind that I (we) could be wrong and that every theory (mine especially) is only valid until we get more canon content next month. This recap post is mainly for people who have trouble keeping up with the amount of different Kuro theories on my blog ever since last week:

“Lizzie will always prefer Real!Ciel”, they said. “Lizzie definitely chose the twin’s side”, they said.

No but aside from Lizzie obviously being depressed by the current situation and thus probably not being so sure of her “choice”, this part is very important because it’s a hint the Midford family will probably find out about a big part of the truth and Edward at least will be involved in the arc until the matter with Lizzie is solved. 

Depending on what Paula knows (and I think she might know significant things since Lizzie is “where she belongs”), they might even understand that Real!Ciel was brought back and, while I know that they might have as many reasons as Lizzie to be shocked and possibly initially angry towards our!Ciel, Ed for once will never agree with a situation that’s making Lizzie so sad.

Then again, who knows if Ed or his parents will have any way of helping with the situation in case Lizzie really is more of a hostage than Real!Ciel’s true love...

Foreshadowing?

Tanaka in ch120:

The twin who died 4 years ago… 

but who was brought back to “life”…

and certainly “went astray”.

Of course if the twin is some kind of Bizarre Doll then he probably doesn’t have a soul anymore, but in any case that scene of ch120 is personally the main reason in my opinion as to why Tanaka won’t side with the twin: if he’s as angry/crazy as the attack on Soma and Agni seemed to prove, then he’s nothing like the young master Tanaka used to care after and thus Tanaka has no reason to choose his side over our!Ciel’s (which doesn’t mean he won’t be very sad).

One could even go further and say that, in the crack theory by @thedarkestcrow that Tanaka knew in advance that the twin was coming back**, these words of ch120 could be a direct allusion to the current situation. I used to think that this scene was about Tanaka blaming himself for the deaths of Vincent and Rachel (and maybe Claudia), but maybe it is in relation to the twin after all and Tanaka is already sad at the thought of the upcoming conflict between two children who used to love each other very much. 

[**: I couldn’t find a more detailed post and I can’t recall if @thedarkestcrow detailed this crack theory more or if it was just something we discussed in private (please don’t hesitate to send a different link :)), so basically:

there is a chance that UT is not the one who brought back the twin, but he’s definitely involved as we saw with ch108/120, so it’s possible that he tried to slow/sabotage the experiment with the 4 Lords if he’s not the one behind it. [x]

also considering Frances’ rather odd behavior in the arc, definitely stopping Ed from being involved with Ciel’s investigation but apparently not trying to do anything to get Lizzie back (as far as we know), we wondered if she didn’t actually know (via UT?) why Lizzie ran away and who exactly was sheltered by the blue sect (the twin). 

finally about Tanaka, considering the theory that he and Frances might have been working together to keep an eye on our!Ciel ever since he came back 4 years ago, if she knew about the twin, then she could have told him and maybe that could explain why Tanaka was nowhere to be seen in ch129 (if that’s not Yana’s mistake of course).

These are pure speculations, so don’t take it too seriously, but even if Tanaka wasn’t referring to the twin in ch120, I still think the panel fits when it comes to foreshadowing the current situation with the twins finally facing each other.]

John-Anon here! How's prison? I don't know if this is like a super obvious question but Real!Ciel knows Sebastian is a demon..he wouldn't just go to the mansion by himself if he didn't think he'd come out alive, since he couldn't have known how Our!Ciel/John would react. It can't be that he's there alone right? But then, wouldn't Seb have sensed someone else in the house?

Oh hey, John Anon! xD Prison was alright, thank you! Actually I was allowed to get out way sooner than expected, because I was rather accurate on the matter of UT not favoring one twin over the other (as far as we know), so I’m free again! 

As for your question, no, I don’t think real!Ciel came by alone. First of all, the servants (Tanaka aside) thought that he was our!Ciel so maybe there is a Seb-doppelganger who arrived with him (aka Polaris, the blue star’s butler). Polaris is the one who killed Agni…

and he’s apparently very strong.  

Secondly, as Paula said…

it’s likely that Lizzie is at the manor or will be soon.

Finally, since Real!Ciel is the blue star and that Bravat serves him, I suppose that he shouldn’t be too far behind, same for the Lords Canopus and Vegas.

Also, Seb didn’t sense real!Ciel from before entering so he might not sense Bravat or the other lords either. :)

I think you should know that I had a dream in which our!ciel very dramatically revealed that his real name is John and I woke up being convinced that this was canon so i spent about an hour researching clues that his name might actually be John (spoiler alert! There's no such clues xD)

…Well Anon, I’m afraid you only partially dreamed. :/ 

I don’t know how you could possibly find out but I now have to confess. I really tried to make these pages disappear from the internet when I edited last month’s chapter by hacking into Yen Press but…

…as a matter of fact you were right, this is how ch129 actually ends and I can’t hide it anymore.

So Our!Ciel’s name is indeed John, it’s just that it’s not him who told us but the real Ciel Phantomhive. You have impressive powers Anon and you caught me, so it’s game over for now. 

Please promise me you’ll find someone to come feed my dog as I am sent to prison. Please, she is completely innocent and just slept as I was trying to hide the truth.

Now that all the arising conflicts are rooting to real ciel, maybe next chapter we'll see how he handle them in a ruthless manner .. so ruthless that it'll make our ciel's ways more rational. I want to see that like really..

Hello! And I don’t think that’s symbolism, this is just one of the main differences between the twins that always was a part of all the 2CT hints.

…Though I suppose you can call it symbolism if you want. In my opinion, it was just the most subtle way that Yana found to make the readers think there could be two kids in all the flashbacks where we saw the two of them.

Hello Anon! And the answer is yes, as I already explained here and here (second ask). 

I could see Lizzie taking our!Ciel’s side, fighting for him if she has to because it is necessary for her character development and for our!Ciel’s too! 

Besides, Real!Ciel is the one who was scared about having a strong wife…

whereas our!Ciel accepted it…

So I think this little moment of the Campania arc might be of use in the conflict to come (since it’s one of the reasons surely why Lizzie is in love with our!Ciel now) ! :3

pretty sure anyone haven't ask this since I checked the tag; anyway regarding ur theory about queen/john brown is mastermind behind all of this it also goes to make them can differ the twin (I mean let's say they r aware of phantomhive twins) but it doesn't make any sense to me in what reason they planning to confront our!ciel by trying to revive the other twins (I'm sorry if I sounds failed to understand so I hope you can elaborate more)

Hello Anon! And actually, I did mention/imply the reason briefly here and here (scroll down to the last message), but I suppose I could elaborate a little. :)

It’s all in the chronology that I wrote here: Ciel’s “loyalty” to Victoria (or lack of, from her point of view) is precisely why I think that the Queen and John Brown might have decided to replace our!Ciel with his brother.

After all, Ciel lied to the Queen about the events of the circus arc, but she found out thanks to Brown and the Double Charles, which is why she tried to frame him for murder (Siemens’ murder who was killed by Grey).

He also tried to double cross her by hiding the SULIN after the Green Witch arc when the Queen specifically wanted it, but she is not stupid and she realized what he was doing, so did John Brown, which is why Ciel was compared to his very murdered father in ch108.

So, I actually think that bringing back the twin would give the Queen a new and way more loyal and respectful Watchdog, one who’s also more of a pawn than our!Ciel was, because he’s been revived by them and might even be dependent on the blue sect to get blood transfusion from time to time (this last point is just speculation). 

And as I was saying in another post, I just wouldn’t be surprised if someone were to tell our!Ciel that he isn’t needed anymore as the Watchdog in the next few chapters. Remember this scene?

I already explained here that chaos in the Parliament could be something that Victoria wanted to happen for her war plans, but what’s important is that the Double Charles (the Queen’s butlers) might show up soon on Seb’s notification, and honestly I wonder if they might not be the ones who will bring our!Ciel grim news.

One thing you have to understand is that the Queen’s current watchdog is “Ciel Phantomhive” and now that the twin is back, technically everything that his brother (our!Ciel) owned under the name “Ciel Phantomhive” could become his because he is the real Ciel Phantomhive and he looks identical to our!Ciel. 

So, all in all, bringing back the twin, manipulating him so that he would want to hurt his brother (attacking Soma, killing Agni, using Lizzie…) and making the two brothers confront each other could be so that Victoria can get a brand new Watchdog, absolutely identical to the last one (with the same name, same network and all), except that he will be more “loyal” and already dead.

Does this make sense and does it help? I hope so because this is all I’ve got so far. xD
